SAN DIEGO SUPER CHARGERS

SAN DIEGO SUPER CHARGERS, SAN DIEGO CHARGERS

DARREN SPROLES carried the team on his small stature and Mike Scifries kicked the Colts into undesirable field position. LT was on the sideline. Antonio Gates & Chris Chambers were prime targets for Phillip Rivers. The grins on the faces of these pro football players was a sight to behold! What an impressive, gutsy performance to send the "how many commercials can I do" Peyton Manning and his team back to Indianapolis.

The people who could not go to the game were watching it. From a vantage point on the 7th (I think) floor of the Rennaissance, we could see televisions all tuned into this REALLY BIG game. And when Mr. Sproles crossed the goal line (in overtime), people everywhere were jumping & screaming, opening the windows to hear others. We could even hear people down on the street.

Walking towards home, everyone was grinning, high fiving anyone that was willing. Shouts & cheers would just suddenly break out. One young lady happened to be wearing a Sproles jersey & she was getting lots of attention. She picked the right shirt for the occasion!

It is a possibility that we will have to get past the Pittsburgh Steelers. Next week it looks like we will play the Titans. The Steelers will play the winner of the Dolphins v. Ravens game. So, the Chargers knock off Tennessee & Pittsburgh wins their game, it will be deja vu for those of us who remember. Somebody needs to find Dennis Gibson and get him to that game. For those who may not have been in San Diego in 1995, Dennis Gibson knocked down a Neil O'Donnel pass that would have put the Steelers in the driver's seat. It was defining moment in Chargers history.

So, Congratulations to the San Diego Chargers. Keep it rolling. Hope LT can play because with him & Sproles, that's a mighty good team to watch.
