Chocolate, Wine, DMV, Padres

I was at Stingaree last Thursday night for the Big Brothers, Big Sisters organization fundraiser. It was a Chocolat & vino party. There was also some rather tasty food, especially the chicken Marsala from Royal India Restaurant. Oceanaire's chef, Brian Malarkey was there to watch over his creations and schmooze with the people. He did a rather fine job. Wilson Creek was there with its signature Almond Champagne. We arrived just before 6 PM, which allowed us some time to scope out the 3 levels. I was disappointed that there was no chocolate fountain this year. This organization always manages to have some tasty, well managed events. I am an avid supporter of the parties!!!

I recently received a form from the DMV regarding my license renewal. I have to go into the office for a vision test, thumbprint & photo. After many, many tries to get through to someone on the phone, I went online to schedule an appointment. It seems that there are no appointments available until after my license expires. So, I have no choice but to get my butt over to Normal Street and plan on waiting for hours. It is a pain to have a birthday during the summer months as that is also when the first timers are trying to get a license.

The Padres are still trying to placate fans by offering what I think are pretty minimal "things". The All You Can Eat seats rarely have more than a few people, the Toyota Terrace is nearly empty, but we po folk still can't enter that sacred territory. What a joke that has been. A baseball park with an elitist section. Just doesn't work. Then they assure us that there is no intention of trying to win much of anything by trading our last available starting pitcher. The loudest cheers over this past weekend were for Trevor Hoffman & he plays for the Brewers.

Now we get to take on Atlanta. Don't think anyone will be remembering "Bury the Hatchet". Heck, the team we are fielding may not even remember 1998!!!

Here's a couple of funnies I found while surfing:

Make sure to avoid fried food like cheeseburgers

Microsoft 6to4 Adapter3 This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)

The best software for your device is installed Windows has determined the driver software is up to date.

I cannot recall the last time I treated myself to a fried cheeseburger. And, as for the computer lingo, I just don't have a clue.

I have tried changing the font size, but nothing works. It just means that most of my friends won't have to get out the reading glasses.

So long
