Talkin' baseball

It's that time of year when the world comes alive, BASEBALL season. When I have to check the Padres schedule before I make any appointments! When I get out the Padres shirts (my friend Ron said it looked like I had about 80,000 Padres related T-shirts). My Padres jacket is essential early in the season.

We return to our seats, wondering who will be there. It will take a few games, but we will manage to get caught up on the lives of our 'section mates'. I already know that several folks in our section will be missed as they could not justify the expense of season tickets on a team that seems to go out of their way to do things to annoy the fans!! I know that isn't exactly true, but they certainly do get that result! As a member of the Padres organization told me, common sense is not common at all. We will see what they do this season.

I do know that I will print the roster rather than buy a program as I believe the roster changes will be many.

One thing I am really excited about is the "value meal". I usually eat at home, but thought I would try this out.

Well, after months of trying to get their attention, I got a call from Kevin Faulconer's aide & his communications guy. I scheduled a meeting for next week and I plan to lead off with communication and the fact that an e-mail or phone call will go a long way to keep the constituency happy (or at least not angry). It is frustrating and annoying when my City Council representative ignores me. If anyone has an issue they would like to have me pass on to Mr. Faulconer's minions, please let me know.

It must be bar closing time, the loud talkers, screamers, noisy "kids", heading to their cars and a possibly precarious trip home. A group of young women just got into their car and proceeded to toss 3 cans out of the car, into the street. How crass.
