Update San diego 5/09/2010

Had a tune in with nature in San Diego. Walking past the catch of the day boat marina I seen two sea lions snooping around some boats last week. Yesterday, walking through Sea Port Village along the bay I seen some sting rays waving along the shore. Also a rock crab was appearing to be sunning its self well above the water line, but most of them were closer to the water line pinching away at food on the rocks. The clams had to wait out the tide as most were above the water line. As I walked on the bridge in Sea port Village I seen a butterfly on the railing of the bridge over the pool. The mallards were laying in the sun along the pool. Last week I seen a mallard and drake with their ducklings in the pool. If the ducklings swam to close to the bridge where I was, the drake would peck at them with a warning to stay away from people. There are some birds nesting in the trees in the Childrens Park in the Marina District. If you walk down First Avenue, going South they will buzz you as you walk along the tree lined sidewalk. Also last week there was a sand piper fishing along the shore of Sea Port Village. On the way back I seen a squirrel hunting along the railroad tracks near the Tin Fish at the foot of the Gaslamp. On Saturday the 15th I was walking there early in the morning and I saw about 20 of then eating in the grass. They are digging in in the mounds and building an empire.

Now what can they do with Encinitas unstable cliffs?

Make the cliffs fall, put up more warnings, fine beachgoers?
