Corn and soybean harvest is slow and long this year, caused by wet weather. As of 11/22/09 soybean harvest at 97% complete, corn harvest at 66%, the corn 33% lower than the five- year average of 96% by now. Most corn has a higher moisture level and must be dryed before storage. USDA rating 70% of corn crop as good to exellent. There were some surface mold seen on corn but it disappears as it is run through the combine and grain dryer. Some of the crop may not be harvested until Spring.
