We had a 1000 lb. order for English toffee that has kept us busy the last few days at Pete & Joy's. Weather is still wet and cool but no staying snow yet.The trees are all but gone of leaves and look in the sky as endless bounds of bare branches waiting for Spring. 1. Japanese Fueki yuko, in korea known as Yu Min is in the KBS 2 TV drama "Iris" and in MBC's "My Home" in Korea. 2. Need a home with your own elevator?. Try Tram Hous 5 in Seoul's Seocho-dong, Gangnam area South of the Han River. 3. A great story on American-Vietnam Culture. Hung Ba Le, born in Hue moved to Virginia to settle with his family and became an American citizen in 1985. He is now with the 7th Fleet based in Yokosuka, Japan and is Commander of the USS Lassen. He was able to sail into his, born home town of Hue, reciently and was proud to be American and know where he came from!. 4. The IMF sold the central bank of India 200 tonnes of gold for $6.7E9 of the 403.3 tonnes they sold in September. How much gold do they have?. 5. I see the economy has taken an upswing in Hayfork, California. The gun shops and under-takers are making a bundle with the move to open opportunites in farming marijuana. The local entertainment of gun shooting is keeping everyone excited. 6. I seen the new Navy assault ship USS New Yorker. At $1E9 and 7.5 tons of steel from the 9/11/2001 attack on New york on it's bow, it is the soul of the city. 7. Word has it that Khanzir, a pig at the Afghanistan zoo is living a life of leasure. he has no fear because he is irreligious and no one would ever eat him!. 8. The "Minnesota six" have been chosen to train security forces in Afghanistan!. They will build seven training camps in the country and graduate 3,500 people a month. That is a lot better than the Taliban. 9. I hope Qian Xuesen makes it to heaven!. Born in China, sent to the U.S. as a student by China's government at the Massachusetts Intitute of Technology and became a researcher in California at the Institute of Technology in the 40s. He developed the Chinese aerospace programs after being forced out of the U.S. for non-proved Communist associations. Ref: The Wall Street Journal, 11/3/09 page A16 10. Dragon Oil PLC of Turkmenistan is being sold to Emirates National Oil Co., which is known as the Cheleken Contract area in Dublin and London. Ref; The Wall Street Journal,11/03/09 page B4 11. President Dmitry Medvedev's video blog about Stalin and Sen. John McCain's comments on white washing Russia's Stalinist past. I fell that if president Medvedev and Sen. McCain put more emphasis on Peter the Great, Catherine the Great, the Romanov family and the resurrection of the Cathedral of Christ the savior in Moscow it would be for the better of Russia and the rest of the world.
