DELIGHTING IN THE LITERALNESS OF THE TERM "SHOWGIRLS," CHULA VISTA - Much has been made of the fact that the Eyecandy Showgirls Emporium slated to take up residence in Chula Vista's former Anthony's Fish Grotto submitted its business license application for a cabaret, but its tenant-improvement application for a comedy club. "Which is it?" wonder the confused fans of both comedy and burlesque. "Will the girls tell jokes? Will the comedians work the pole? What does this mean for open-mic night? Will lap dances double as roasts?" Well, wonder no longer: SD on the QT has, through tireless investigation, dug up the original business plan for the place:

From what we can tell, it looks like the comics will work the stage between acts - just like in the old days! The move, according to Eyecandy manager Randy Bumregard, should allow the business to dodge Chula Vista's restrictive policy on nude entertainment venues. "We're not employing strippers," explained Bumregard, "we're employing historical reenactors."
