I've read the rules on blogging here and I have to admit I'm disappointed that I can't just copy my regular blog's posts into this space, but I'll see what I can do about writing something original for The Reader. My personal blog can be found at allofapeace.com.
I moved to Bonsall three years ago from northern New Jersey, about 45 minutes outside NYC. I LOVE California. I've never been a fan of the East coast. West is best baby!
Recently, I've been putting together a list of places to suggest for entertainment when guests come (because they DO show up often when you live in a vacation spot!). Since my friends are widely varied, so too are the places I've visited around San Diego. Hopefully my sharing of this knowledge will help some others out that are also checking out our fair city, and give them some local options they wouldn't have otherwise known about.
I'm the type of traveler that likes to see "back stage." I want to experience the twisty alleys and local secrets of the places I visit. I want to know what it's like to LIVE there, not just visit for a weekend. Sea World and Disneyland? Well those are great if that's what you came for, but give me places to experience - like Self Realization Fellowship's Meditation Gardens and Lotus Cafe in Encinitas, or a drive through De Luz for the photographic vistas and u-pick apple farms out by Palomar Mountain.
That's my intent for this particular blog then... the places in San Diego (hopefully with pictures!) that might interest others like me that really want to know in the space of a few days, what the local flavor is.
Until the next post...
