It's springtime, and I'm in luck! Now that the weather is getting warmer, Mommy lets me look out the back door when it's feeding time. This morning was a lovely one-I got to enjoy the cool, crisp air as I ate my favorite niblets. I could see that the potted plants are getting bigger. Must be all the tender, loving care that they get from Mommy's green thumb. The birds even sang to me, as I ate my endive and baby carrots. Sometimes I wish I was one of them, so I could fly! I'm only dreaming, because everytime I think of leaving, the idea of not seeing Mommy again makes me very, very sad...
I've been with Mommy now for almost a year. She likes to remind me how very blessed she feels that I'm in her life. I do remember coming home with her after my former owner gave me away. I was glad that happened. Life on the streets is no piece of cake. Before I met Mommy, I was living in an old man's pocket. I was very little, so it wasn't so bad. It did get pretty cold at night, so I made the best of my situation and tried to stay out of the cold. I just kept hoping that someone might come along and rescue me. The old man fed me occasionally, but I always felt hungry. I didn't have much to drink because he was living on the streets and sometimes he forgot to give me water.
When the old man decided to get rid of me, it was perfect timing. I was feeling sick and wanted a real home. As soon as he put me in Mommy's hands, I knew that she would give me what I was searching for...
