Maybe a little perspective and some questions? Was this a "repair" project or a replacement? Do the residents along Meade and 33rd now have a new sewer line and a water line that should last for many years? (And freshly paved streets.) If you took a vote, would the affected residents vote to NOT get new sewer and water lines? "This project was plagued by lapses in assessment, planning, implementation, supervision, and communication." That's a pretty strong statement; hope you have proof, not just anecdotal evidence. I have a few Polish relatives, but what, exactly, is a Polish Fire Drill? BTW, I live in Normal Heights, too, and am not a City employee.

You are certainly correct that the rules for using Ward Canyon Neighborhood Park are not enforced. Police officers writing tickets to those users who drink, have their dogs off-leash, climb trees, leave mounds of trash behind, and set up soccer games on the lawn would send a needed message that such behavior is not allowed or tolerated. It's probably not legal, but those users should be banned from this park.
