cvreader, Thanks for your comment. I hate making a mistake so I went back and listened. Salas says; "i did have a concern though i think one of a pretty serious nature. on november 29 this council took action to regarding the legislative council ordinance and um as I was reading through it I felt there were a number of flaws, I felt there could be some improvement on it so right now at this meeting I'm requesting a reconsideration of that action regarding the legislative council ordinance and um repeal the adopted ordinance and I would like some support for this council to do so."

Cherie, I'm curious when you took the toll road. If you don't mind saying, I'm wondering if the toll road experience has changed since SANDAG took over the road in June? I know many had complications when it was South Bay Expressway.

Another Closure at Chula Vista’s Otay Ranch Center Mall

A 2007 UT article attributes the problems to the economic downturn and the failure of the southbay expressway to open on time--there is on/off ramp right next to the mall. But now that SR125 has been open for a few years and the tolls reduced you still don't see the traffic. I wonder how the mall would have fared if it had not been a toll road--perhaps it wouldn't have been built.

Sweetwater Schools Forum Makes Policy Clear as Mud

Regrettably montana, I wasn't able to attend the November 13 board meeting. I'm not sure what you are referring to though I am catching up on the meeting by listening to the tapes posted on the district's website. I know you must be referring to Mr. Tom Hassey who teaches in the district and also attempted to start a bank with superintendent Brand. I heard Hassey was serving in the district office gratis, but I don't know what you're are referring to. Clue me in? Or perhaps I will stumble upon it while listening. Thanks...

Controversy continues over Chula Vista's EyeCandy

nostalgic, We all are nostalgic for those better days. Anthony's was a good place to eat and you used to be able to buy fresh fish there. As for the bayfront, the port and the city of Chula Vista went to China looking for bayfront investors...what a long and winding road the bayfront development has taken.

Chula Vista East Side's Mello-Roos Mess

I would recommend everyone really interested in the Mello-Roos topic take a look at Hanono's thesis. It's about 100 pages long and focuses on Chula Vista. For resources he used the archives of the Union Tribune and Star News, County Assessor's Office and interviews with former city administrators and residents. I think there are short term and long term questions that need to be answered for people who live in Mello-Roos areas and this would be a resource.
