Filner Introduces Bill to Block Blackwater USA
I commend Mr. Filner for taking this action. Most politicians have been surprisingly silent on the role of military contractors in overseas conflicts and how they are selected, trained or overseen by government agencies who hire them. The Waxman committee has brought to light several instances of fraud and corruption by military contractors, amounting to millions of dollars of squandered taxpayers' money. These groups need to be much more closely supervised, as seen by events this week in Iraq where Blackwater guards can kill civilians under very suspicious circumstances and be back working three days later.— September 21, 2007 10:13 a.m.
Chargers Aim To Leave
I say good riddens to the Chargers! They're just a bunch of over paid glamour boys that can't produce anyway. They've got their nerve trying to hold the fans emotional hostage. With their give us a new stadium or we're going to take our ball and go somewhere else mentality. Whatever happened to the days when sports was about the love of the game and the fans, instead of about the love of the almighty dollar! Beat it bums.— September 20, 2007 8:18 p.m.
Blackwater License Being Pulled
If Blackwater is approved, and the training ground is built....horrible, horrible things are going to happen to all employees, family members and friends of any Blackwater employee. Something big will happen, and anyone connected with the training facilty in Potrero will suffer as a result. Bigger than you can imagine.— September 20, 2007 5:17 p.m.
Parking Lot Problems
This was quite a story, but leave out the 4-letter words.— September 17, 2007 4:08 p.m.
