Union-Tribune's Circulation Plunge Second Worst Among Top 25 Dailies
What a great portrait of the evil the UT has foistered upon us all - but WHAT can the "average guy" do to minimize their continuing warped influence since unsubscribing seems not to work?— November 6, 2007 4:34 p.m.
It's Official, but Buried: Haas Resigns
Can anyone make any sense out of all this? The only person I thought had ANY integrity in all of the flotsam that populates the Sanders administration was Admiral Froman who I know nothing about but only believe voluntarily left because she could not tolerate the rottenness of Mayor Republican— November 6, 2007 4:18 p.m.
Union-Tribune's Circulation Plunge Second Worst Among Top 25 Dailies
Another excellent summary of the key facts Don, “youth not reading” and “dumbing down of society” in San Diego are certainly two more consequences of the Era of U-T Establishment Greed that I failed to mention. Thank God we still have heroic firefighters and law officers left to protect us from the consequences. Meanwhile it’s interesting once again watching and reading U-T establishment denials, finger-pointing, refusals to accept responsibility and accountability for the second set of firestorms in just four short years while the establishment continues its larceny of taxpayer money including “subsidization of pro sports, condo and other real estate projects, the U-T was short-changing the legitimate activities of government.” Hopefully, San Diegans will wake-up before the next election even though our usual choices are either corrupt republicans or incompetent democrats. Thanks for your reality checks anyway Don, I hope The Reader will replace the U-T soon so San Diegans can make more informed choices at least. Anon92107— November 6, 2007 3:39 a.m.
Union-Tribune's Circulation Plunge Second Worst Among Top 25 Dailies
Don, the consequences of U-T corruption have been hideous losses of life and $Billions in property losses over the last four years at least, so the U-T deserves to decline and fall forever. San Diego can no longer afford the U-T culture of criminal negligence to say the least, especially when they never accept responsibility and accountability for the losses of life and health and property their larceny has stolen from all San Diegans. San Diego could have funded Bowman’s recommendations many times over with the taxpayer money that was diverted to fund establishment corruption instead. The U-T era of “Ballot Recommendations” poster good old boys like Cunningham, Golding, Murphy, Sanders, Roberts et al. must come to an end before they destroy quality of life in San Diego irreparably to a totally unacceptable state. The choice to end the U-T Establishment era of destruction is now up to the San Diego electorate. Anon92107— November 5, 2007 11:34 a.m.
Three RB Neighborhoods Didn't Get Warnings
Don, I want to clarify that when I said RB, I was also including San Pasqual. The Guajito Fire started behind some of the forces gathered to try to stop the Witch Fire. But the fact remains that the FD was ahead of this event. The rest of the city was basically stripped well before the fire hit to try to protect RB. Dozens of engines were in the area starting about 9 the night before.— November 5, 2007 9:21 a.m.
Three RB Neighborhoods Didn't Get Warnings
Don, I think we're saying the same thing. Day to day there is certainly not enough coverage in RB. The same goes for many other areas of the city. On the day of the fire, however, about 2/3 of the city's firefighting force was sitting in RB already, just waiting for the fire to come. That was not the case in the Cedar Fire, where we were reactive, not proactive.— November 5, 2007 5:41 a.m.
Union-Tribune Circulation Plummets, Says Trade Magazine
Don, the most overwhelming fact of life of U-T rule over San Diego is proven by the fact that U-T Establishment and their "Ballot Recommendations" politicians refused to accept former Chief Bowman's recommendations after the 2003 firestorms, as documented in Steve Lopez’s L.A. Times Oct 24 column “He won't say 'I told you so . . .'”, and the consequences are the 2007 firestorms. Anon92107— November 5, 2007 3:43 a.m.
Three RB Neighborhoods Didn't Get Warnings
Good point Don. As I stated, this is one area in which I actually agree with Aguirre. However, in the post before you state that neither firefighters nor residents got warning. That's totally false. SDFD had about 2/3 of the department already sitting in RB before the fire hit -- engines were there starting around 9 the night before. As as I've already mentioned, the 11PM news conference stated that the fire would enter the city in the next couple of hours -- and was moving west. The city didn't identify the exact neighborhoods that the fire would hit, but fire's an inexact science.— November 4, 2007 9:11 p.m.
Levitt Agrees With Aguirre

Hey! Here's an idea; how about let's have a country where we are FREE to speak what ever language we want. Or is freedom to big a concept for you to understand. I suggest you look up: Ethnocentric. In the dictionary of your choice!— November 3, 2007 10:13 p.m.
