We Filipinos eat with our hands, drive crazy on the road, point with our lips
As a matter of fact, Southeast, no, reporters don't pick their own headlines. Headline writers and editors do that. Journalism 101.— March 18, 2010 12:09 p.m.
Fundamentalist Group Wants to Reform Court System
(#32) Great series, Don -- what they used to call a "telecourse." I took it at Grossmont and have the book but don't recall that line. What I wish PBS would rerun or release on DVD is Galbraith's _Age of Uncertainty._ I remember it for its phenomenal use of visuals and JKG's bone-dry wit. It made the history of economics go down real easy.— March 17, 2010 11:54 p.m.
Sisterworld
Well. Very evocative writing -- evocative of all things dark and disgusting. That was the point, I'm sure.— March 17, 2010 1:18 p.m.
Pinniped Predicament
Ms. Grant, you've figured out your opponent: Trash others with false claims about their education levels and then hide your own. Tell lies about others and stick to it, even when you've been exposed. Remember, MG, he's smart enough to be a lawyer. You're not.— March 17, 2010 12:40 p.m.
Update: Beautiful Jessie has come home! And: What we learned about lost/found animals
Hmmm...interesting place; never heard of it. Thanks for the tip, AG.— March 16, 2010 11:28 a.m.
Satire Saunters into the Reader! A word on Walter Mencken’s February 24 installment of “S.D. on the Q.T.”
SD, you're thinking of "Let's Live for Today" by the Grass Roots, also the Lords of the New Church. Gringo, find the Vandals' version of "Summer Nights" (from _Grease_). It's godlike.— March 15, 2010 9:48 a.m.
Satire Saunters into the Reader! A word on Walter Mencken’s February 24 installment of “S.D. on the Q.T.”
You may possibly be thinking of the Dickies doing "The Tra La La Song" (a.k.a. the Banana Splits theme).— March 14, 2010 7:25 a.m.

What Archies song? And what the hell are you doing up at this hour? (Don't forget to flag this for removal, SurfPuppy.)— March 14, 2010 6:25 a.m.
Pre-gaming
(#74) SurfPuppy! What brings you here?— March 11, 2010 11:24 p.m.
Pre-gaming
(#66) OK, fair enough. My mistake.— March 11, 2010 4:34 p.m.
