Give Us Our Music Back!
It's always funny to watch when they edit movie lines to make them fit for tv, and also fit what it looks like the person's mouth is saying. It makes it sound like one of those badly-translated godzilla movies. The replacement never quite works. I have no problem with them making morning radio fit for kids, though. I remerber once, when I was in college, and drove a school bus part-time, I was covering another guys route, and the kids told me to turn on the radio. So I turned it on to the station it was set to, and after a couple minutes had to turn it off, as I thought what was being said, and the music being played, was totally inappropriate for kids. This was just regular over-the-air radio. So of course the kids got upset, saying "the regular driver puts it on". I had to tell them I wasn't going to be the one to have to explain to some parent who overheard it why that was being played for kids on a school bus. But they're right in that, some of the things I hear coming out of speakers as parents drop kids off at school would make Mr. Rogers want to put some parents over his knee.— July 12, 2009 4:41 p.m.

Seinfeld is a better show. SPEAK ON IT!— July 11, 2009 5:07 p.m.
Sexual Harassment
Dave Chapelle had a funny skit on his show where he stops before having sex to make the woman sign a consent form, to avoid this(then afterwards he has her sign a confidentiality agreement, so she can't tell anyone he sucked). Maybe they should put those consent forms in every box of condoms.— July 11, 2009 4:37 p.m.

BTW Spliff, President Obama just gave a speech in Africa, talking about the challenges for them and their future, in which he said "For many years we've made excuses about corruption or poor governance, (insisting) this was somehow the consequence of neocolonialism, or the West has been oppressive, or racism," Obama told AllAfrica.com last week. "I'm not a believer in excuses." I'd say "I couldn't have said it better myself" except I already did, in comments 73 and 75 above. Great minds think alike.— July 11, 2009 3:30 a.m.

I'm going to give Spliff credit for one thing. He always dares me to "speak on it". I don't know if he's open-minded enough to really hear anything I say, but at least he welcomes the debate. But liberals like MsGrant want to take away the right of free speech of anyone who disagrees with them. In her words "you need to be muzzled". If Josh's words are so offensive and wrong-headed, it should be easy for an intelligent woman like yourself to refute them. Go ahead. Inspire others to your viewpoint.— July 11, 2009 3:19 a.m.
Stupid Cops and the Stupid People That Hate Cops
sfmc, if those are my only two choices, I'll be the power-hungry little tyrant. "Respect my authorataaaayy!" But I'm actually neither. Here is a sample of your words from which I made a judgement about you. "It only proved more to me the importance of showing cops what their true place is in our society--our servants." "DEFERENCE DOES NOT WORK.They are the ones who have to prove themselves to us, not the other way around." These two show me you have a problem with cops authority, and this one..... "I'll take a tazing over pepper spray any day. When its over, its over. Pepper spray is the gift that keeps on giving. Especially when you take a shower later on. OUCH!"..... tells me you've put your attitude into practice, and ended up on the losing end, leading to more resentment on your part. If my judgements about you are wrong, I'm glad, but I don't think they were out of left field. I'm as gung ho about standing up for my rights as anyone. I've taken Josh to task when he's criticized "innocent until proven guilty". But people get confused when they think they haven't done anything, and therefore don't have to cooperate with a cop. I'm trying to point out that you do, because once a cop gets involved, he's the one who gets to decide if you've done anything wrong, and if you don't cooperate, you'll most assuredly end up in cuffs, where you otherwise might not have.— July 11, 2009 3:02 a.m.
BREAKING NEWS BLOG -- Michael Jackson and Farrah Die
Under the heading of "just to put things in perspective". Out of curiousity, I went back to one of the Citybeat writers (the one Grant is so fond of) columns from a couple weeks ago that I had commented on, just to see if she had responded, or anyone else had. I was still the only comment. So then I went to her latest column. No comments. Apparently either her liberal zombie readers are so in lockstep with her that they have no independent thought to contribute, or she has no readers. Discouraging either way. Keep up the good work Josh.— July 10, 2009 1:41 a.m.
Spelling Errors and Phrases
The name "vowel" is often used for the symbols that represent vowel sounds in a language's writing system, particularly if the language uses an alphabet. In writing systems based on the Latin alphabet, the letters A, E, I, O, U, W and Y are all used to represent vowels. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vowel— July 10, 2009 1:24 a.m.

It's funny how people like Spliff and Grant think that as soon as a black person acts like a normal human being they no longer represent the black community, and lose their right to speak on it. Chris rock is famous for pointing out the double standard in the black mindset. As soon as a black person acts like a normal human being they're "acting white", and they lose their credibility with that segment of the black population. So instead of listening to what Cosby says, instead of holding up the accomplishments of the people I listed as examples to be emulated, they're ridiculed.— July 9, 2009 3 p.m.
Stupid Cops and the Stupid People That Hate Cops
This is the telling comment from sfmc. "I will never allow myself to be embarrassed like that again in front of my daughter." This is a guy who has a problem with authority, and finds it humiliating to submit himself to it. He thinks he "cooperated totally", while the cop "violated about 4 different rights. He also mistreated my daughter" but I'm willing to bet an unbiased observer would tell a different tale. We all have to reconcile what it means to stand up for our rights, with what it means to respect authority.— July 9, 2009 2:41 p.m.
