Sell It, Trade It, Keep It
Great story. It's awesome that it worked out so well.— August 19, 2009 4:20 p.m.
The year I taught at Morse Senior High I spent $2000 on school supplies and making copies
Thanks for publishing this Reader. Very enjoyable read. Alex thanks for making the point that teachers teach for their love of the subject matter, and their love of the kids. The analogy about merit pay and used car salesmen was right on.— August 19, 2009 4 p.m.
After Midnight
Pete you made my point. It's only when you live somewhere where you're surrounded by losers and a$$holes that you have to have that attitude. Nice calm normal people living in a nice calm normal place don't have to worry that someone is going to try to punk 'em. Gottahaveid, your exceptions prove my rule. Check the murder rate by neighborhood, the crime rate in general, or any other stat you want.— August 19, 2009 4:36 a.m.
After Midnight
The question was about San Diego. Cities like Chicago, LA, NY make EVERYBODY crazy. Like you.— August 18, 2009 2:46 a.m.

Because white people don't usually pull out gats and start shooting.— August 18, 2009 12:14 a.m.
What are your thoughts on Alcohol in the PB/MB community?

Famous Faces in the News -- Dylan, Pitino, Phelps, George Michael
I just made this point about Vick, but I'll say it again about Pitino. What does his private life have to do with his job performance? Unless this makes him a less-effective basketball coach, it's irrelevent. U.S. Senators do worse and keep their positions. It really ticks me off, and makes me worry about the future of this country, when I keep hearing people making moral judgements about other people, then wanting to punish them for their choices by taking away their careers. Everybody needs to stop being judgmental about how other people live their lives. Live and let live. As long as what someone does doesn't hurt anyone else, they should be able to do what they want. Or in Vicks case after he's paid his debt to society people should stop calling for more. This kind of thinking is why prop 8 passed. It's also why there are vice laws. The name tells you all you need to know about them. Everyone should remember, if they are deciding how other people get to live, other people can decide how they get to live. People don't even like homeowners associations. Do you really want big brother dictating all aspects of your life? He already dictates we must wear a seatbelt in the car, and a helmet on a motorcycle. He says we can't smoke weed, and can't pay for sex, and can't bet on a football game. How much more freedom are we willing to give away in our free country? It all starts with that value judgement about someone else's behavior. Live and let live!— August 17, 2009 3:33 p.m.
My Thoughts on Michael Douglas and Michael Vick
Fred, if you think fighting dogs is comparable to eating bacon, you are truly retarded.— August 17, 2009 12:55 a.m.
My Thoughts on Michael Douglas and Michael Vick
Pete, everyone is sympathetic about what happened to you. Who wouldn't be. But it doesn't mean you're not still as a$$hole.— August 17, 2009 12:54 a.m.
My Thoughts on Michael Douglas and Michael Vick
Pete why don't you take tour eggo's back to Chicago and freeze 'em off. As for Vick, although what he was involved in was reprehensible, I have a problem with anyone deciding someone can't have such and such a job, because their "morals" don't measure up. The fans can decide this one. If enough people boycott the Eagles for signing Vick, they'll drop him like a hot potato. But he has a right to make the best living he can. He served his time and paid his debt to society. Wanting to continue to discriminate against him now is un-American.— August 16, 2009 1:04 a.m.
