The return of the Chargers scandals
I'm not attempting to disprove Henderson's intentions as a good and true pal of what's in the best interest of San Diego people in general. I asked a question, and if you were honest you would answer it properly. He cost San Diego Taxpayers well over $100,000.00, by filing the lawsuits. Tell me I'm wrong, SP.

Prison? So Scripps, the Zoo, SDSU count for crap? Come on Fred. Prison? How about Fyre's voting record here? No one is offering that record. Moores isn't some innocent, but neither is Frye. Throw him into jail then you have to throw her in there as well.

I'll do my part, but you have to be more specific about the specifics. I laid out a lot here. Not out of any disrespect of Mr. Bauder, he knows I'm a fanboy. But let me know what specifics you require and I'll try and provide some.

The return of the Chargers scandals
"After the Padres won the vote by a 60–40 margin, Moores dumped the star players, including those who had parroted the line that the team could not compete without a new stadium." Those "star players" were free agents that were purchased, not home-grown talent, I just wrote about this a couple of days ago. Moores wasn't Werner. Those "star players" (that were swept by the Yankees, by the way) weren't dumped, they were simply not re-signed, successful baseball teams do NOT field teams full of free agents, it isn't sustainable. I'm guessing that Moores finally learned that somewhere along the way. San Diego can blame John Moores for many things and thank him for others (his donations to this city are conspicuously absent here) so far as the Padres are concerned. In his political maneuvering, he was very much encouraged by the San Diego politicians in power at the time. In his ownership of the Padres, his biggest mistake was in letting the farm system go to hell. But there were, in fact, very positive events as owner of the team, and as a public figure in the city of San Diego as well. And nowhere anywhere is there any mention about how Frye voted concerning any of this, it would be revealing to know. It would be quite awesome of you to post her complete voting record here so far as any stadium issue was concerned. No one is innocent, Don. Not Donna Frye, she enabled a lot of what you rail against here. And it can be argued that in his effort to save the dumb citizens of San Diego from themselves, Henderson actually cost them more money in the long term.

"Wanted: Mordecai" - Mythic Tales of the City of the Gods
I think this is a very fun idea and I look forward to reading the fiction from San Diego's finest and the artwork is a swell way to spice up everything.

"Wanted: Mordecai" - Mythic Tales of the City of the Gods
I can do 5,000 words in my sleep (I've been told I write better that way), but do you have a specific genre in mind? Do we get to channel our inner Bukowski or should we go all Rowling here?

CIF Semifinals Schedule (Feb. 28)
When I was much younger, I covered prep. I was assigned to games - never chose them - and they were always boys games. It wasn't because anyone had a beef with the young ladies, that was never an issue. It was because the masses wanted to read about the young men. I would have written about any match that newspaper sent me to. And they would have sent me to a girls game if people had demanded to read about it. Part of this "is" a sexist issue. But it certainly isn't the fault of Anthony Gentile (who does an amazing job here, I confess that I go out of my way to try and not step on his stuff, I think it's awesome, I'm a lucky man to be linked in the same frame here), nor of the Reader. Humankind simply isn't quite embracing women's athletics to the point where you are. It certainly isn't you. I know, for example, that the SDSU women's basketball team is on top in their conference yet not rated in the polls. I also realize that most other people aren't aware. This is where we are at right now, Annie. It isn't just you. And guess what? In time, I think it will come. Meanwhile, I totally give Anthony a pass and the Reader as well. Because, you know, you have to give the world a chance to catch up to you. I'm paying attention. So are a lot of people. It'll happen one day. You wait and see.

Letters
In spite of the hair (dearest Rapunzel! Just a trim would be so excellent!), I remain at your beck and call. I shall climb your lovely trichophiliactic offering whenever presented. I am currently enlisting Reader stringers here, although the effort in Baja seems to be well-covered. Nevertheless, madam Rapunzel, I am yours, I am charmed, and I stand ready with pen and paper in hand. I remain entirely disappointed that not one person in San Diego set a couch on fire in the center divider of a freeway last week (not that I'm supporting that sort of behavior but PLEASE contact me if that's what you have in mind), yet I remain forever hopeful. And Rapunzel, we both know what's going to happen here. Your witch of a step mother is going to come along and push me into some thorn tree or something. Now THAT is one hell of a stringer story. But I don't imagine that we can expect happy endings from German fairy-tales anytime soon. Still, let down that awesome hair, I'll wait like the good prince I'm supposed to be. At the very least, it would make for an awesome stringer piece.

Court Will Not Hear Oral Arguments Over Motion to Dismiss Medical Marijuana Case
This is a complete injustice. State's rights apparently mean nothing anymore. The U.S. was a Republic last time I checked. This was voted on and passed by the people of the State of California, I have no idea how the courts can shut that off like some wayward open water valve.
— March 1, 2012 3:46 p.m.
Tijuana Police Respond to Concerned Residents
The cops have never been trusted here, that is not new. The petty local crime is a recent development. A couple of years ago it wasn't any different from San Diego in that respect, but in the last couple of years there have been issues. This mostly involves robbery and similar crimes. The victims are usually older women, and the criminals are after their purses and cell phones. The cops are busy trying to control the smuggling, which has left an opportunity for thugs to prey on citizens that would have little defense otherwise.

Tell me I'm wrong, SP.— March 4, 2012 1:28 a.m.
The return of the Chargers scandals
Prison? So Scripps, the Zoo, SDSU count for crap? Come on Fred. Prison? How about Fyre's voting record here? No one is offering that record. Moores isn't some innocent, but neither is Frye. Throw him into jail then you have to throw her in there as well.— March 4, 2012 12:02 a.m.
The return of the Chargers scandals
I'll do my part, but you have to be more specific about the specifics. I laid out a lot here. Not out of any disrespect of Mr. Bauder, he knows I'm a fanboy. But let me know what specifics you require and I'll try and provide some.— March 3, 2012 11:24 p.m.
And it can be argued that in his effort to save the dumb citizens of San Diego from themselves, Henderson actually cost them more money in the long term.— March 3, 2012 9:46 p.m.
"Wanted: Mordecai" - Mythic Tales of the City of the Gods
I think this is a very fun idea and I look forward to reading the fiction from San Diego's finest and the artwork is a swell way to spice up everything.— March 3, 2012 4:16 p.m.
"Wanted: Mordecai" - Mythic Tales of the City of the Gods
I can do 5,000 words in my sleep (I've been told I write better that way), but do you have a specific genre in mind? Do we get to channel our inner Bukowski or should we go all Rowling here?— March 3, 2012 3:33 p.m.
You wait and see.— March 3, 2012 12:38 a.m.
At the very least, it would make for an awesome stringer piece.— March 2, 2012 1:17 a.m.
Court Will Not Hear Oral Arguments Over Motion to Dismiss Medical Marijuana Case
This is a complete injustice. State's rights apparently mean nothing anymore. The U.S. was a Republic last time I checked. This was voted on and passed by the people of the State of California, I have no idea how the courts can shut that off like some wayward open water valve.— March 1, 2012 3:46 p.m.
The cops are busy trying to control the smuggling, which has left an opportunity for thugs to prey on citizens that would have little defense otherwise.— March 1, 2012 10:56 a.m.
