Conspiracy Theory
How about the House Senate Committee on Assassinations in 1979 stating that there could have been "another shooter", thus making the lone gunman theory impossible, thus being a conspiracy? There is also a book called Six Seconds in Dallas that's good too. Sound recordings, the Zapruder film, etc. Just seems to be too clean, if you know what I mean. Have you been to Dealey Plaza in Dallas? Very eerie. There's a RED X in the middle of the street marking the fatal head shot. For some reason, you're drawn to it...then you look up at the 6th floor of the then Book Depository, then the Grassy Knoll...just puts it all into perspective...I'm not saying you have to visit there to be convinced one way or another, but I can't believe the lone gunman theory. Sorry....but I'll read that book you suggested during the Xmas break from school...— November 25, 2007 4:48 a.m.
Conspiracy Theory
I don't think 9/11 was a conspiracy with the US Govt...however, I do believe that there was a conspriacy with JFK...sorry, just throwing that out there. The others you mentioned I believe happened...the moon, OJ being a killer, etc. There's been too many things written on both sides of the JFK thing..too many little coincidences that sway me toward that way...so, if you think I'm an idiot, that's okay with me...you know why? Because everyone is entitled to their opinion... ;-) Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving!!!— November 24, 2007 2:43 p.m.
Fake Friends
I understand your points, zoso and Josh, but what law did she break? I know it's deviant behavior. I understand that, and sure, it's wrong. But how can you prosecute and with what ammo? I'm with both of you..really...something should be done, but how? And I NEVER said it was "okay" b/c this is probably not an isolated incident. I merely stated that this made headlines b/c the girl committed suicide and probably wouldn't have made any news had she not. Hope that made sense.— November 24, 2007 12:42 a.m.
Fake Friends
Sorry, I'm getting into this late, but what can you charge the woman with? She didn't know that the girl was going to commit suicide or that she may have been that mentally unstable. Personally? I think we should all have some personal responsibility and stop blaming everyone else for our downfalls. This story only made headlines b/c the girl killed herself. I'm sure the type of conduct by the woman is not isolated. True, it is sad that she died and true, that bullying stinks, and yes, I agree that the woman handled it completely in the wrong way. But legal charges? I don't think so. I'll bet the woman is going through some major guilt knowing she helped that girl through that noose and will have to live with that everyday for the rest of her life.— November 21, 2007 11:58 p.m.
Do You Really Wanna Hurt Me?
I just keep remembering what someone told me about music and fashion....everything is cyclical....and at least some of those 80's bands are still getting played on the radio and earning residuals...— November 16, 2007 9:04 a.m.
Ho Ho Ho!
What's a goy? And I'm too set in my ways to be THAT PC...it's way over done already....— November 15, 2007 11:20 p.m.
No Habla English
And most Vlaams do sprek Engels because both languages are Latin based. Again, missing the point. I live in Brussels, so I should learn French and Dutch to help fit it since those are the official languages. I don't expect everyone to conform to me, and speak English. It's all about self responisibility. That's all I'm saying. If I were dropped in Russia, I would expect to learn Russian, and so on...— November 11, 2007 12:34 p.m.
Reality Killed the Video Star
I remember the days when Buggles "killed the radio star" and the MTV wave began. Now, MTV is "just another channel" instead of the video music pioneer it once was with VJ's we all knew by name...Martha, Mark, Nina, Alan, etc. Those who remember MTV when it was Music TeleVision, will understand.— November 10, 2007 3:17 p.m.
I Wanna Be a Gangsta
I just saw Lions for Lambs last night. Not sure what to think of it. I think it lasted about 75 minutes. But my wife kept saying "Don't you feel weird watching this U.S. politically charged movie that deals with a controversial subject, in another country?" I said no, b/c the Belgians who paid to show up, knew what they were getting into. BTW, there are no Red Vines or Twizzlers here...I miss those at the theater.... :-(— November 9, 2007 11:48 p.m.
I Wanna Be a Gangsta
A few years ago, my wife and I were at the theater to see Shrek 2. There, I can understand bringing kids, it's that type of movie. The guy in front of me brought his 6 year old kid. The kid was great in the theater. It was the Dad who fell asleep and started snoring. I had the same argument with my wife, but I eventually kicked his seat hard enough to wake him up, then said "I didn't pay $7.50 to hear you snore". He apologized and stayed awake for the rest of the movie. My point? Say something..you never know what reaction you'll get...— November 9, 2007 3:51 a.m.
