Logan's Run
I hope people really "do" dress like that in the future. What a riot. And in days of future past, will the inhabitants of that time be embarrassed by their clothing choices as we are by bell bottoms and Members Only jackets?— April 13, 2010 12:19 p.m.
26 at work, almost time to go
You know, maybe I'm wrong, but I could swear that I already read this when I read all of John's "The Sun Cafe Goes On" blogs back-to-back a week or so ago. I went back today but couldn't find it. I'm not trying to suggest anything, but it seems a little suspicious ... I'm just saying ....— April 12, 2010 5:19 p.m.

Amen, SD, and ditto about MG's zingers.— April 12, 2010 5:10 p.m.

SD was just pointing out that your grasp of punctuation, syntax, and structure are rather, uh, limited.— April 12, 2010 2:31 p.m.

After some consideration, the word "raccoon" no longer exists for me; from now on those masked animals are nothing but "Washbears."— April 11, 2010 7:08 p.m.

All right, John, you're home; now get out there and find Judy!— April 11, 2010 6:44 p.m.

They "did" kind of look like that. That is the biggest raccoon I've ever seen ... those crazy German "washbears."— April 11, 2010 6:42 p.m.
Logan's Run
This was on TV last night. I haven't seen it in years. Most of the special effects, probably cutting edge at the time, are embarrassingly bad; the miniature that represents the city isn't any better than the one at Unarius in El Cajon. Box the insane robot, however, is an absolute scream, especially when he goes on relentlessly about "... plankton and fish and sea greens and protein from the sea ..." The plot isn't a bad one, and overall it's a pretty good movie, and it has Jenny Agutter in it.— April 11, 2010 5:42 p.m.

April's mother, June, has one of those to help her arthritic old cats climb up on her bed and onto the sofa. Mary, however, as she lurched across it, would crush the flimsy thing, as she has almost done to me on on more than one occasion; sometimes she grows too enthusiastic for her own good--or mine. Yes, a manatee can flip as well as flop, and on her fat flippers too. Mary once even flipflop flippered flirtatiously from the ceiling and chandelier, although her amorous stunt required a dizzying arrangement of buttress supports, levers, and a reinforced harness.— April 9, 2010 3:17 a.m.
