Written For My Friends
I've had many friends throughout my life, but all of them fell away like dried husks and autumn leaves; all of them but two, Mark whom I've been friends with since 5th grade, and Time whom I've been friends with since junior high. I love them both like brothers. A few years ago, I was going through some very emotional issues, and I drifted out of their lives for almost two years. I finally pulled myself together and reconnected with them. They never asked me what happened or where I'd been--we just picked up where we'd left off, as if I'd just excused myself for a moment. They never judged me or tried to force themselves on me, they just gave me the time i needed. I'd do anything for these two men, and I believe they'd do anything for me. Sometimes I forget how lucky I am.— May 17, 2011 8:47 p.m.
