Observation tower at Paradise Point Spa and Resort (formerly Vacation Village). Vacation Village, which opened in 1962, was created by Holllywood producer, Jack Skirball, who hired architect Eldrige Spencer, chief architect of the California Parks system, to design the resort's guest rooms and other structures. Spencer designed the observation tower, itself, and artist Val Agnoli created the sculpture to depict red-eared slider turtles that lived in the lagoon below the tower.
