Lexington, known as “Thoroughbred City" and the "Horse Capital of the World", is located in the heart of Kentucky's Bluegrass region. Thoroughbred Park, a tribute to Lexington’s horse industry, is home to these life-size sculptures of Thoroughbred horses. In front of a multi-jetted fountain, these seven life-sized bronze statues of jockeys astride racing horses rush towards an imaginary finish line. On a berm behind the fountain stand grazing bronze horses and foals. A paved walkway through the park is dotted with bronze plaques memorializing notable people in the horse industry. There is also a small bronze statue of "Lexington", the famous 19th century racehorse and a spectacular garden of red roses. This is a wonderful park to visit.
