Sweetwater land deals — the beef goes on
We should ban together and file an injunction to stop all of these real estate deals. With all of these land deals taking 2-3 years where are they getting the money to build out the property we are renting in Eastlake for the District people. No wonder they raised the Mello taxes they need more money to pay for Harold Place and the bus depot off of Main Street. These county people are no different than the last bunch we had running this show. I was told they get mad if you try to speak on more than one issue. Looking to me like all of this show was to make it look like things have changed well they haven't. So now how do we get rid of the new guy and the county bunch we can't wait until January they are bleeding us dry. This is a bunch of bull led by a bunch of rustlers.— July 23, 2014 7:13 p.m.
Cartmill for Sweetwater board — get real
I was just told that there was some funny business at the board meeting last night. The mello taxes were increased but from what I understand it looked like the deal had been cut before the meeting even started. There was a prepared motion handed to Susan Hartley and Marc Anderson asked how many do we need to pass after he had already spoken against raising the mello. Looks like this bunch ain't too much different than the last bunch. How do you vote to increase taxes in a community you don't even live in. Knew there was a reason why I didn't want to move out there I could have been saddled with what many of you are now dealing with. And now Tom is selling we need a new school. Just keeps getting worse and worse. Can someone tell me if O'Neill is running for the folks living in old Chula I hear there is a map but I haven't seen it.— July 18, 2014 7:44 p.m.
We don’t want the stinkin’ charter expansion
Bv hey guy you have been sorely missed.— July 17, 2014 11:53 p.m.
Cartmill for Sweetwater board — get real
If you ask Jim, he will tell you he really didn't do anything wrong. The people that attended the mayors forum are not interested in seeing him back and don't mind sharing that opinion. I knew it was coming but is still hard to believe.— July 17, 2014 11:42 p.m.
Who’s minding the jewels?
CV_Parent Jim lost his way many years ago. Whoever runs against him is going to need to walk the streets and knock on doors have the proof in your hands. Quinones was voted in even with everybody knowing what the charges were. Since when does being a pastor make you an honorable man. The man plead guilty why is he embarrassing the congregation by asking for their support.— July 14, 2014 4:01 p.m.
Who’s minding the jewels?
annie after services yesterday I was told Jim is going to run in November.— July 14, 2014 6:59 a.m.
Who’s minding the jewels?
Its a mighty stupid sailor that doesn't know when to abandon a sinking ship. Pleading Ed told me to ain't going to cut it. That fire alarm whistle blower is still around.— July 12, 2014 7:30 p.m.
Who’s minding the jewels?
This story is not setting well with me. Looks like Glover does not have control eventhough he is suppose to be in charge and Ed is still running things. Jim just may be part of this as well. How are we suppose to trust after this. These County folks had better read loud and clear that we are fed up. I am beginning to wonder if they thought putting Glover in charge was in tune with putting lipstick on a pig.— July 11, 2014 7:09 a.m.
Ed Brand’s time at Sweetwater is over
Chris-Schilling you have to live under a rock not to know what the problems are at Sweetwater. I have lived in this city since my childhood and never thought I would live to see the day that I questioned my decision to stay. Anyone running needs to start with the property. If we have any chance at all at turning this torpedoed ship around we had better know the truth about the damage that has been done. I will not be voting for anyone that can't give me the straight skinny.— July 8, 2014 7:30 p.m.
Ed Brand’s time at Sweetwater is over
Ed come back as a Consultant, John is out of his mind. Consultants are a major part of the problem. If Ed shows his face in this district this place will blow up all over again. Time to scuttle the Ed Brand ship.— July 3, 2014 3:36 p.m.
