San Diego Set to Put Car Chargers on the Map
Every time I go to a meeting, the City of San Diego is announcing some fabulous new project "at no cost to the city" based on a Federal Grant (sometimes a State Grant). Isn't anyone else suspicious that the city is throwing just a teeny, tiny bit of money into the pot? You would think the US government and the State could figure out they can help balance their budget just by cutting San Diego's grant money, there's so much of it.— April 9, 2011 12:32 p.m.
Diary of a SealWatcher
And while we are talking about the seals in La Jolla, how about our city's decision to set off fireworks right over their little heads? Talk about fireworks being unnerving to dogs, the seals think it is the end of the world. Seals are right underneath those displays! They were all swimming at La Jolla Cove the last time I was there, not knowing that the Fourth of July is coming. Can't we set them off over people?— April 4, 2011 3 p.m.
City Council and Centre City Redevelopment Reach Compromise Over Convention Center Debt
The next step is for the CCDC to try to figure out how to wiggle out of paying the $2 MILLION they were told to pay. It will be interesting to see when that first payment is made, the first check written. That would be the real start of a new San Diego.— April 3, 2011 9:06 a.m.
City Council and Centre City Redevelopment Reach Compromise Over Convention Center Debt
Does this mean that the CCDC has to make the stepped up payment, that they have to actually pay the $2 Million more than they were going to if the City Council hadn't passed this? Or does it mean that the City has told them that they would like for them to do this. Is there like a bill, like your water bill to the CDC? And when do they have to pay?— March 31, 2011 7:29 p.m.
Golden Hill Citizen Asks City to Enforce Vagrancy Laws
Does the MAD clean up people poop, or only dog poop? Just asking, a question for the MAD oversight committee.— March 25, 2011 5:02 p.m.
Will Hillcrest Get Its Garage?
I don't get why Uptown needs a Parking District anyhow. They need parking, Yes. Parking District? NO. Who else has one?— March 14, 2011 8:34 p.m.
Save Our Heritage Organisation Stands Up for Cabrillo Bridge
Anytime someone says publicly "I love my (fill in the blank here) --community, park, neighborhood, or whatever, you know it's a done deal. It's over. Get ready for the freeway off-ramp.— March 5, 2011 2:59 p.m.
San Ysidro Is Too Far South for Sidewalks
If someone trips on a broken sidewalk, they can sue the property owner. The owner of the tree with the root that dislodged the sidewalk will be liable. All you have to do is look at the sidewalks in San Diego, and know it's NOBODY'S responsibility.— March 4, 2011 8:19 p.m.
San Ysidro Is Too Far South for Sidewalks
Most people think it is the city's responsibility to provide sidewalks, but in fact, it is the responsibility of the adjacent property owner. The city does have a 50-50% program, where they will help property owners who want to replace broken sidewalks. The city has other sidewalk programs, but this is only because they are generous, not because they admit to the responsibility.— March 4, 2011 6:06 a.m.
San Diego City Council Approves Leash-Free Parking Lot?
Are these low income dogs? If so, the developer can claim an exemption for a parking bonus during construction.— March 1, 2011 3:59 p.m.
