City Well is Running Dry
Maybe the City could get the Water Department to supply the water, in-sourcing instead of out-sourcing. And instead of water dispensers there must be some alternative. Maybe faucets?— May 15, 2011 4:06 p.m.
City Attorney Goldsmith Is Mad About Drinking and Driving
UPDATE: Well, those city attorneys deserve a margarita, as they finally joined up with the others on the Mayor's Health Care package. At home, of course.— May 11, 2011 6:39 p.m.
City Attorney Goldsmith Is Mad About Drinking and Driving
Didn't the City Attorney's reject the Retirement Health-Care proposal that everybody else accepted? Hope they didn't celebrate whatever victory that was with a martini!— May 11, 2011 1:57 p.m.
National City's Street Vendor Sweep
Why don't they just license the vendors? We have all these carts in OB that seem to rent space in parking lots. They don't have to block the sidewalk. This won't work in National City?— May 9, 2011 7:45 p.m.
Search for Shelter Site Begins and Ends on Newton Avenue
Crime rates do not tell the whole story. With the decrease of government-operated mental facilities, our population of mentally ill is partly absorbed into the homeless population. Sad though it is for them, their behavior is also unpredictable. The label "homeless" does not give the whole story on this population, their needs, and society's responsibility to them and for them.— April 30, 2011 7:30 a.m.
Consider the Condo
Developers gets to build with fewer parking spaces, no setbacks, more than maximum units per lot as incentives or bonsues for 1 or 2 low-income units, which nobody keeps track of. Did you notice on-street parking when you were driving around? Did you find a parking place?— April 23, 2011 12:56 p.m.
Our Lady of Peace Bullies City Council
Where DID the OLP laywer get that plaid shirt? Not to mention the tie. Please, next time do a video pre-run before that image appears on City Council video. What will David Copley think?— April 22, 2011 5:56 p.m.
Pacific Beach Foot Traffic, Retail, Up in Smoke
I still can't believe that people who are all about PB don't even know it's THERE! And I don't even live there.— April 12, 2011 6:16 p.m.
Pacific Beach Foot Traffic, Retail, Up in Smoke
Right on all counts. I called and asked, but I'm still not sure it is right: Mr. Frostie's Tastee Freeze (or is it Tasty Freeze?) Yes, I remember the chocolate chip cookies! The full dinner menu was a sandwich, a drink, and a cookie, for a fixed price. 1470 Garnet. 858-274-9977. Dear Inglorious, you will feel much better if you have a raspberry shake.— April 11, 2011 6:11 p.m.
Pacific Beach Foot Traffic, Retail, Up in Smoke
We were in PB on Friday and decided to have lunch there, but couldn't find a parking place, so we finally left and went home. We wanted to have lunch at Mr. Foster's Frosty Freeze. Too bad, another day.— April 10, 2011 10:58 a.m.
