Council to Consider Kessler Settlement
Bill Anderson advertises on Linkedin that he was with the cit;y 5 years and 1 month. Guess he got in under the retirement wire.— November 13, 2011 11:55 a.m.
Council to Consider Kessler Settlement
Did Scott Kessler wind up with City retirement benefits?— November 12, 2011 2:29 p.m.
None
This audit report is brilliant! Surely, this wasn't written by a city employee. Factual, organized, no built-in confusion factor or misdirection. Our city needs more employees like this author. Please, stick with us!— November 6, 2011 1:33 p.m.
Food Carts Get a Little Push from City Hall
If you visit Civic Center Plaza now, you will think you are back in time to San Diego's glory years. I was there yesterday on my way to a hearing in the Civic Center. The whole area seems to have been steam-cleaned. It is sparkling and new and beautiful (unless you raise your eyes to the Civic Center itself, which seems kind of mildewed). When was it built? 60's? 70's? Maybe we can get the area declared historical, and save the cost of a new Civic Center.— November 4, 2011 7:32 a.m.
San Diego Unified Board Member Scott Barnett Releases His "Plan to Save Our Schools"
How many janitors does it take to equal one Powerpoint-wielding Assistant Superintendant? How many people sit in the Ed Center and go to meetings? No mention of them.— November 1, 2011 8 p.m.
Fraudulent Block Grant Claims
I don't see the difference between these guys and every other city non-profit contractor. Must be a a CDBG thing.— October 27, 2011 8:34 p.m.
Fraudulent Block Grant Claims
Looks like CDBG applicants get it all or get zero. The Urban Corps got $185,651. Wonder what it was for? Interesting web site. $100,000 is almost the bare minimum anyone asks for, although there were a few in the $75K range. A lot were more than $200,000. A little here, a little there, pretty soon it adds up.— October 27, 2011 12:41 p.m.
The After-MAD in Golden Hill
To paraphrase a quote, "The GH MAD is a large body of money completely surrounded by people who want some."— October 24, 2011 4:41 a.m.
The After-MAD in Golden Hill
The Appeals Court said "mischief" when it talked about the city's role in forming the Golden Hill MAD. Our city council members call it "a flawed Engineer's Report." And it's odd that Point Loma doesn't need a MAD, but the areas with lower income do. You would think it would be the other way around.— October 21, 2011 2:36 p.m.
