Group of Rolando residents file suit over controversial mixed-use project Centrepoint
who is the lawyer for the Rolando Residents?— October 10, 2013 2:55 p.m.
Attorneys Gonzalez and Briggs reap big settlement from City of San Diego
That's not a BIG settlement. More like a LITTLE settlement.— October 8, 2013 3:16 p.m.
Is High Tech High at Liberty Station smoke and mirrors?
Public school is the real world, but the education is right there to take, but YOU (parent/student) have to reach for it. I advise you to look at the requirements for UC admission right now. You will see the courses that are required. Voice of experience - Sr. in high school is a little too late. Then work with the school. We live across town from Southeast San Diego, but one of our children went to school there (on the bus), and it was a great education. You will be fine (and I'm sure he will be too). Your husband is right. And no, I don't work for the school district, and I was a worried parent too. Good luck!— September 12, 2013 6:10 p.m.
City emails show employees scrambling to justify North Park Jack in the Box permits
There was a time when property owners had to ask to be rezoned when they did not meet the requirements of the Municipal Code. Skipping that part makes everything go faster - must be part of DSDs process improvement.— September 11, 2013 6:37 p.m.
City emails show employees scrambling to justify North Park Jack in the Box permits
What zoning?— September 11, 2013 1:29 p.m.
Aguirre wants secure water supply, lower electric rates, infrastructure upgrade
I fell in love with Michael Aguirre when he was running for City Attorney. Many candidates spoke at a forum, and he said "I want to give San Diego back to the people of San Diego." I had never heard of him before, but those words won my vote, and that vote is still his to claim.— August 31, 2013 12:42 p.m.
The Downtown San Diego Partnership set to receive another $5.8 million in taxpayer subsidies to manage the Clean and Safe Program
The city has learned that they can authorize an assessment district, operate outside the law, and pocket the profits, by not providing information on how to apply for refunds. Doing the honorable thing, the honest thing..... well this is San Diego.— July 13, 2013 9:11 p.m.
Did City Attorney Jan Goldsmith lift the suspension on closed session meetings?
So, Bob Filner is a growly boss. This sounds like government employees have never lived in a real world. If I left every job where the boss was less than kindly, I would be continuously unemployed. If the chairman of a meeting told me to sit down, I probably would. Because I wanted to stay employed. This is not a factor in these stories. Mayor Filner is the boss of the city. Some people just don't like that.— July 9, 2013 7:46 a.m.
Jeff Olson, the Mad Chalker, prosecuted by city attorney for words in front of Bank Of America
What will happen next? This was a criminal, not a civil suit. I am not sure the city has to pay the winning lawyer. Then, it would take a civil suit for "false arrest"? Please, some of you lawyers, help us out here.— July 4, 2013 2:06 p.m.
Illicit activity spurs work on Sunset Cliffs Natural Park
Thank you for this informative article about a truly natural park in the heart of Point Loma. For those of you who don't know where it is: Go through Ocean Beach on Sunset Cliffs Blvd to the very end, make the left turn on Ladera, and the Park entrance looks like a time-travel doorway to San Diego back-country. If you have not been there, I promise you will be amazed.— July 4, 2013 2:04 p.m.
