University Christian Church - 3900 Cleveland @ Richmond
To help commemorate National Historic Preservation Month, the Neighborhood Historic Preservation Coalition invited all four major Mayoral candidates to participate in this year's Primary election forum. Only Congressman Bob Filner agreed, citing his strong interest and commitment to San Diego's older neighborhoods and their active community groups.
The public policies and activities of City government have a significant impact on our community and this Preservation Forum provides an opportunity for dialog, through questions and answers, spotlighting the important issues facing San Diego's older and historic neighborhoods.
The general public is encouraged to attend this free forum. — May 22, 2012 9:32 a.m.

Great news that the lie repeated by Republican Mayoral candidates that Gaylord left Chula Vista due to the Unions insistence on Project Labor Agreements finally being challenged by Democrats. When candidates bring up the same lie, the public should correct them with the actual letter linked above.

Fletcher Campaign Receives Over $56,000 From Donors Outside of San Diego County and State
We are calling on all Mayoral candidates including Congressman Bob Filner (Federal), Assemblyman Fletcher (State), Dumanis (County), and Councilman DeMaio (City) to solve our Veterans Homelessness problem this Memorial Day weekend through bi-partisan cooperation and leadership. http://tinyurl.com/20120526 Congressman Bob Filner knows how to bring new streams of Federal funding into San Diego. Including the new GI Bill so returning Veterans can go to college, and VASH vouchers to end Veterans Homelessness nation-wide by 2015. The HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) program combines Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) rental assistance for homeless Veterans with case management and clinical services provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). VA provides these services for participating Veterans at VA medical centers (VAMCs) and community-based outreach clinics. http://www.gibill.va.gov/benefits/post_911_gibill…— May 26, 2012 9:48 p.m.

Redevelopment promoters weep over supreme court decision
The City of San Diego Redevelopment Agency (RDA) may end on February 1, 2012. But from City Council meetings it looks like both CCDC and SEDC are going on living as non-profit agencies under the City Council. http://www.sandiego.gov/redevelopment-agency/pdf/… On September 1, 2011 the City Council approved the State-required Enforceable Obligation Payment Schedule (EOPS) with a total Outstanding Debt or Obligation of $10.8 Billion in RDA Tax Increment (TI). Page 10 shows all the Affordable Housing projects should still get funding. Pages 3 and 4 itemize the Office of Inspector General Audit Settlement for only a portion @$78 million of the $228 million that CCDC/RDA misappropriated in Federal Community Development Block Grants (CDBG). Congressman Filner is helping us try to access the $228 million in Tax Increment (TI) owed the poor specifically to End Veterans Homelessness and Chronic Homelessness in San Diego by 2015.— January 18, 2012 11:54 a.m.
