Never homeless: Ripped off in Mission Bay Park

Thank you for your moving story. Please analyze our Homeless funding solutions. San Diego Government leaders, except for former Mayor Filner, have refused to analyze our easy solutions to end Homelessness. Former Mayor Filner tried to force Civic San Diego to fund Homeless Solutions using $32 million in former CCDC Redevelopment Agency (RDA) Tax Increment (TI) siting in the bank to no avail. www.tinyurl.com/20140127a The lack of leadership at City Hall is resulting in the two Homeless Emergency Shelter Tents to run out of funding and close down on March 31, 2014. 60 Days from now. Former Mayor Filner promised the Homeless that both tents would stay open year-round. Now that he is gone someone has to step up and lead.

Allred and Filner lawyers agree to 30-day delay

Repost. Another interesting connection is the 2009 Rotary Club 33 Newsletter which introduces Irene McCormack Jackson's husband who works for Bonnie Dumanis as Assistant District Attorney Gordon Davis. http://members.calbar.ca.gov/fal/Member/Detail/12… Having a lawyer in the family was probably the reason McCormack Jackson waiting 6 months and 18 days from the inauguration on December 2, 2012 to June 20, 2013 before claiming sexual harassment in order to go after the deep pockets of the City of San Diego. If her claims were made before 6 months deadline, the City could have a potential out and less culpability because sexual harassment training is a requirement within the first 6 months, and did not happen. It would be interesting to find out who exactly cancelled the City's sexual harassment training for the Office of the Mayor which was scheduled, then changed. Other outstanding questions: Is 57-year old McCormack Jackson on the Deferred Retirement Option Project (DROP) through SDCERS her previous employer the Port of San Diego or the City of San Diego which allows enrollment starting at age 55? Is McCormack Jackson currently on disability from the City and collecting disability checks? See Page 3. http://clubweb.rotary33.org/pdf/newsletter230.pdf "Irene McCormack, classification “Port District,” introduced herself to Club 33 today. Irene is Assistant Vice-president, Government Affairs & Communications for the San Diego Unified Port District. She has been with the Port for 5 years and before that she was a journalist for 25 years at the SD Union-Tribune. Her husband’s name is Gordon Davis and Irene enjoys working with glass beads and photography. Ben Clay, Steve Cushman and Nikki Clay are her sponsors."

California sues Manchester's firm; reports show Navy complex push by fired city lobbyist

The public park and open space advocates have dibs before anyone else. Fault investigations will confirm or deny active faulting on the Navy Broadway Complex (NBC). Preliminary limited investigation identified up to 3 strands of faulting. For the NBC some paid consultants said the faulting was just only "Potentially Active" or anomalies caused by subsurface utilities going down hundreds of feet vertically, therefore no mitigation measures are needed. www.tinyurl.com/20130117 Siting our Navy's new $1 Billion West Coast Headquarters on a presumed active fault could amount to treason against the United States. The local San Diego FBI refused to investigate if taxpayer funded fault investigations were hidden on Port Tidelands in order to site the buildings including NBC, the North Embarcadero Visionary Plan (NEVP), the Tenth Avenue Marine Terminal, the original Convention Center garages that leak, etc. If active faulting is confirmed then the Navy Broadway Complex project is moot. Laws required only open space and park above active faulting.

Off the record: city attorney and U-T reporters

There is discrimination in the City of San Diego Public Records Request (PRR) responses. Monday January 13, 2014. City Council Audit Committee Hearing on Item 5 – Audit of Mayor Filner Paris Trip Expenses and Fraud Hotline Report. The Audit confirmed no City taxpayer money was used. No corruption or misused of public funds as alleged by City Attorney Goldsmith. Mayor Filner was set up by Police Chief Lansdowne and the City Attorney. They forced Mayor Filner to take two Executive Police Detail Officers on his private vacation, citing Police Department Policy and hiding behind National Homeland Security Concerns. http://granicus.sandiego.gov/MediaPlayer.php?view… Video start time at 1 Hour 22 Minutes to end time 1 Hour 29 minutes Public comments on redacted Public Records Act (CPRA) requests to make it look like Mayor Filner used $30,000 on City credit cards for his own personal trip. There is no evidence that former Mayor Jerry Sanders was required to take two Executive Police Detail Officers with him and his wife when they went on private vacations. Police Chief Lansdowne forced the two Executive Police Detail on Mayor Filner stating it was part of existing Policy to safeguard the mayor overseas while on personal vacation. However, due to National Homeland Security concerns, Police Chief Lansdowne refuses to show the actual Police Department policy that requires Mayoral security during private oversee vacations. Then hiding behind National Homeland Security Concerns on Police Department Policies. http://docs.sandiego.gov/councilcomm_agendas_atta… See Pages 4 and 5 where Police Chief Lansdowne misspent $24,641.86 on a deliberate and planned Political setup. On Wednesday January 15, 2014 Economic Development and Intergovernmental Relations meeting I spoke up again at Non-Agenda, and Item 1a Open Government Charter Changes proposed by David Alvarez and Donna Frye. http://granicus.sandiego.gov/MediaPlayer.php?view… Video Start Time 3 Minutes to Video End Time 6 Minutes. San Diego's Code Monitoring Team: Foxes guard the henhouse

First thanks for the important story. After our complaint back in 2006 the Code Monitoring Team (CMT) promised to abide by the Brown Act and post their Agendas online before meetings are held. Prior, the CMT would publish the Agendas after the meeting already took place. It is sad City Attorney Goldsmith and Interim Mayor Gloria are under the impression a legal loophole exists to Brown Act compliance. It does not. If the City Council refuses to act, our State Attorney General Kamala Harris should be asked for a legal opinion to overrule our timid City Council and City Attorney. One of the main issues former City Attorney Mike Aguirre pushed was compliance with the Brown Act for all public meetings in the City of San Diego. http://sdcityattorney.com/Significant_Reports/200… "In addition, this Office is very concerned about the legality of certain “ad hoc group” meetings (attended by representatives from three Council District offices, the Office of the Independent Budget Analyst, the City Auditor and Comptroller’s Office, the San Diego Housing Commission, and the Mayor's policy staff), which have been conducted in private (and which the “ad hoc group” intends to continue conducting in private) to review the history of the City's management of the CDBG Program, recommendations for future CDBG Program years, and the City’s CDBG Strategic Plan for FY 2010. Under the Ralph M. Brown Act, California Government Code section 54952.2(b) (also known as the “serial meeting prohibition”) states, in relevant part, “[A]ny use of…personal intermediaries,… that is employed by a majority of the members of the legislative body to develop a collective concurrence as to action to be taken on an item by the members of the legislative body is prohibited.”

Labor-backed poll shows Alvarez catching Fletcher

http://www.nathanfletcher.com/endorsements/ Fletcher has endorsements from ALL City Unions, not just cops. Endorsements include: San Diego City Firefighters/IAFF Local 145, San Diego Police Officers Association, San Diego Lifeguards Association/ Teamsters Local 911, San Diego Deputy City Attorneys, San Diego Municipal Employees Association, and the San Diego Stadium Coalition. http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2013/nov/03/tp-rea… Councilman David Alvarez is backed by most Non-City Employee unions, therefore no conflict on interest on Pension issues. Big Difference. Councilman David Alvarez has stated no public money for Stadium, unless a public vote per State Constitution. Fletcher opined that he is willing to give Chargers both the Qualcomm and Sports Arena land to pay the public cost for a new stadium. For the Plaza de Panama in Balboa Park, Fletcher originally refused to state his opinion, saying whatever he would do as mayor would be "Speculation." Now he has finally admitted to backing Irwin Jacobs destructive plan for paid parking. http://sandiegofreepress.org/2013/10/virtual-mayo… "Like my main opponents in this race and most of the park’s institutions, I supported the proposal to make the entire central mesa of Balboa Park, including the Plaza de Panama and Plaza de California, reserved for pedestrians while keeping the west entrance of the park open. I’m not aware of any efforts to revive the Jacobs Plan, but I do continue to support the concept of completely removing cars from the center of the park and reviving the magnificent public plazas that were foolishly turned into roads."
