SDaniels: You are one classy broad! :) Your posts are delicious bits of 411 rivaling any full page spread. I'm halfway through answering your juicy email of yesterday but the Sominex is calling despite the miles I have to go before I should sleep. (See, you make us all want to be better writers - talk to you later today if that's okay - nite dear muse :)— April 24, 2009 2:24 a.m.
Reader writers' favorite drinks and where they drink them
Mr. Lickona: great recipes and great piece! I'm going to print all of them out and keep them poolside for a sweltering day. Thanks for putting that together and making me look good the next time I host a bacchanal. Cheers!— April 24, 2009 2:19 a.m.
Police Officer Shootings
I would strongly agree that the media has a heightened responsibility to keep us all honest and accountable (especially public figures which include all police officers), provide an open forum to air disputes (ALL opinions should be allowed expression); and, not slant the facts toward their own personal political agenda UNLESS WE ARE TALKING ABOUT THE EDITORIAL PAGE OR AN ONLINE BLOG, such as this one. People come here expecting to read someone's perspective or opinion and engage in a factual debate; not true of a reported news item. I have long disliked the reporting of what amounts to personal bias as factual news on the front page, online news articles, or TV "news" programs. Whatever happened to "just the facts ma'am"? The power of the media is tremendous. Therefore their responsibility to all of us is onerous and not for the weak of knee'd or mind or intent. The search for the truth continues....— April 24, 2009 2:05 a.m.

No Josh, I promise I won't go over the edge as you suggest..lol..and of course y'all are invited (Danielle & Suzanne & JB and guests - even Ovod if he can "get (him) a ticket for an aero-plane"). But Joshb has to be off duty. :) Middle of the hot summer is the best time for that; too hot to care about anything but cool relief. I'm curious Josh, do you ever go to parties on you "day off" and not feel the urge to write about them, or is there a story everywhere? I would think the latter would be true for you if I were to guess because of your inquisitiveness and energy... Magic...check out the info on the number 1235813... might help get you started with your number theory blog. :) I am certain you will be great once you take that first leap into blogdom...alcohol helps. :)— April 24, 2009 1:44 a.m.
The Working Girls
I think we have a winner here! Very nice piece, refriedG :)— April 23, 2009 11:57 a.m.
Cold Clues, Hot Shaves
It is no fun to have to work it at a party. Clues are cool, as long as they are relatively easy to figure out...otherwise one remains, yes I'm going to say it...clue-less. I think you were better off getting your first shave and tattooing that guy's name into your forehead...lol. Interesting and entertaining as always Mr. B. :)— April 23, 2009 9:44 a.m.

Interesting.... my number is 1:11...which is the hour my father died, almost 29 years ago, my youngest brother has the same experience with that number. However, my youngest son always seems to catch the clock at 4:20...and no, he is not a pothead...lol. I never knew that this was a phenomenon others experienced. DEFINITELY google it and write about it...I'm sure you, in fact I know you, are not alone. Cool...I look forward to it Danielle. Best, Lisa— April 23, 2009 8:10 a.m.

No, I haven't...write about it. And don't feel that way, that you have to meet some standard requiring you to have the courage to post. You are a bright, articulate, educated woman...you know how to write with humor and feeling and fun. Just be you, and let it flow out of you like you are having a conversation with someone. Don't think about other's perceptions, just speak to them through your fingers...and share your thoughts, experiences, and/or research. I KNOW it will be fabulouso! And you already have a fan base :). Thank you too, for your support. Sincerely. Lisa (p.s., Washington is a beautiful State...so thanks for the welcome!)— April 23, 2009 7:50 a.m.

Great idea, pool party at my house! lol... to see, or read about the walk route it is described in my other blog, "La Mesa's Magical Oasis"...which I think you did read and said nice things about which I greatly appreciated...as well as your zealous defense of me to that very strange person who shall remain nameless. I think I got her to finally stop harassing me. It was all very odd, especially because I only initially posted to her blog because I sorta felt badly that no one had and she seemed young and really trying to work up a discussion. My first post was actually nice! But she came at me with her response to it and then cyber stalked me. I checked out her name this morning after reading her most recent message to me. She has about 50 blogs...all anti something conspiracy this and that. Yikes...just goes to show you, no good deed goes unpunished, although I did call her a "doof." (If she only knew what I really wanted to call her...lol)— April 23, 2009 7:22 a.m.

Yes Magic, the dreaded removal of your comment..oohhh I'm so scared..LOL...your comment to that effect on "history dude's" (as Josh calls her) blog was too funny. Morning! :) On a side note, you were invited by myself and SDaniels to go on my La Mesa walk with us, then Suzanne pointed out that you live in Washington now. :( We're pouting....— April 23, 2009 7:06 a.m.
