Can Ché stay?
Cutural suicide? Maybe just a little dramatic Mr. Shackleford? You know its funny, over all the problems we have heard about re the Che, a huge drug scene outside the Che is one that just never happened to pop up in any of the media accounts. It's like an account on KUSI a few nights ago where reporter Sasha Foo said one of the complaints about the Che was that it was a center for counterculture, subversive political thought (You know, Che Guevara and all). Which I don't think ever was a problem. I think it was something Ms. Foo created just to fill up a two minute TV segment. Mr. Shackelford, just wondering, what were the shows you saw at Che? I'm sure you actually attended shows there as you said. You said you can never can tell who is in charge when you go there which indicates you went to a few shows. What were they?

Reggae on the Coast canceled
I just got a call from Ras Charles (Lawrence) who has owned and operated the Earth Culture reggae emporium in downtown Oceanside for more than 20 years. He said people are still coming into his store asking to buy tickets and that they have no idea the show is in fact canceled. "They canceled the show two months before the date. Everyone knows that reggae audiences wait until the last minute to buy tickets. They got scared and made a big mistake by canceling it so soon." The 94/9 website ran ads for the Reggae on the Coast on its website. There is now no mention of the cancelation of the show, either in an ad similar to the original one, or in their concert listings.

Electronic billboard? No!
No Ken, Mayor Jim Wood and Jerry Kern voted FOR the project. Councilmember Esther Sanchez made motion to REJECT the proposal. Councilmembers Feller and Lowery voted with Sanchez. There was only one vote, 3-2 to REJECT the proposal.

Fallbook Hospital spanked by court
Shirleyberan....whoever you are....I made no attack on Don Bauder. The only points I made is that from his first article that was posted May 17 but was taken down the same day apparently due to inaccuracies was that the Fallbrook hospital mentioned in the article in fact does not exist. It ceased operation in December. And then today I noted that there is no such thing as a City of Fallbrook and that neither the "City of Fallbrook" or the County of San Diego operate a Fallbrook urgent care canter or a hospital as Don Bauder reported. How can so many random statements be created out of thin air? There was a NLRB ruling that came down May 9 based on who should pay for a deflected unionization. OK. So why make up up all these other realities that simply do not exist to prop up a story? For god sakes Shirleyberan, what journalism department teaches you should make stuff up just to have an interesting article? Please explain how this makes me unprofessional and also please tell me who you are to make such a charge. I never said anybody was unprofessional or anything like that. If you google "Fallbrook hospital" you will see an article right at the top of the list of most read articles (from the Reader published last October) that I think explains some real Fallbrook hospital drama and which does not create new realities.

Fallbook Hospital spanked by court
Don, you wrote: "The City of Fallbrook has opened an urgent-care center." First, there is no City of Fallbrook. Fallbrook is in an unincorporated area of San Diego County. Second, there are urgent care facilities in Fallbrook but all of them are privately owned and operated. Who told you anything like "The City of Fallbrook has opened an urgent-care center?" Neither the non-existent City of Fallbrook or the County of San Diego operate anything like an urgent care center. As I told you in this space yesterday, the Fallbrook Hospital District owns property that it leases to a company called A+ Urgent Care which is owned and operated by a private company based in Murrieta. If you call 911 or are involved in an accident you are taken to either the Temecula Valley or Palomar Hospitals (most likely) or TriCity.

Pyrate Punx slam for autism
Jason Mariner has announced on his facebook page that Yard/Stronghold has in fact reopened at that new space at 5335 Market Street. He has announced two shows so far: An EDM show called Emerald City May 16 featuring Holmes, Rebelloso, Erik the Dopest, DRTY, Phon, and D Monky Slap. Also Siya, from Oxygen TV's "Sisterhood of Hip Hop" will appear May 29.

"This is the second time I've had to call you people."
And to "Supporters of the Che Cafe," we don't even know who you are. You can be any anonymous "supporter." In fact, there was a widely disseminated email from one person who was sending out emails saying he was a member of the collective when in fact he was told by the collective that he was no longer welcome to speak on its behalf. After the eviction was posted, he in fact sent out a misleading email saying that there was no such notice. It was sent as if he was a bona fide member of the collective which was not true. I see that that this letter was in fact not sent by a member of the che cafe collective. Could it be the same person who was told to go away and stop representing the collective? We all know who this person is. And why this person clearly cares about the Che, there was too much drama, physical confrontation and other gooey messes he stirred up for him to continue representing the collective in any way. In other words, I don't think this letter came from the collective. Having said that, complaining about using the word "Bust" in the headline does seem to make sense. All open and above board criticism is healthy. But why can't you tell us who you are?
— April 8, 2015 8:44 p.m.
"This is the second time I've had to call you people."
I did not write the headline. Headlines are written by editors. Clearly, based on the media attention the event received, it proved the resolve of the collective and the event was not a "bust." You wrote "The article implies that if UCSD students are not assaulted and/or arrested that the protest is a failure." Uh, I don't the article implies that at all. If you derived that from the headline, I don't know what to tell you. Based on the eviction notice, everyone including the collective expected there to be a 6 a.m. eviction because that is what it said. The whole affair seemed like a granfalloon, wasting everyone's time. I think the additional quotes provided by the sheriff captain added after the initial publication of the article explained a lot that was not explained before in any other media and I was glad to illuminate those details. If Mr. Krimston regrets the quotes he gave, I don't know what to say. That is what he said.

Yes, Droopy, you got the job
Hedgecock is gone but KFMB did not follow through on its plan go all live and local from 9 to 3 p.m. KFMB carries a live show from 6-10 a.m. which originates from Sacramento. KFMB in-house host, Mike Slater, is live from from 10-noon and again from 3-6 p.m., but KFMB still carries syndicated Sean Hannity from noon to 3. KFMB program director Dave Sniff said yesterday he is still working on the live lineup. Hedgecock left Friday.

What were they?— July 18, 2015 5:55 p.m.
There is now no mention of the cancelation of the show, either in an ad similar to the original one, or in their concert listings.— July 8, 2015 10:57 a.m.
Electronic billboard? No!
No Ken, Mayor Jim Wood and Jerry Kern voted FOR the project. Councilmember Esther Sanchez made motion to REJECT the proposal. Councilmembers Feller and Lowery voted with Sanchez. There was only one vote, 3-2 to REJECT the proposal.— June 25, 2015 1:49 p.m.
If you google "Fallbrook hospital" you will see an article right at the top of the list of most read articles (from the Reader published last October) that I think explains some real Fallbrook hospital drama and which does not create new realities.— May 18, 2015 11:34 p.m.
If you call 911 or are involved in an accident you are taken to either the Temecula Valley or Palomar Hospitals (most likely) or TriCity.— May 18, 2015 10:52 a.m.

Also Siya, from Oxygen TV's "Sisterhood of Hip Hop" will appear May 29.— May 8, 2015 6:42 p.m.
But why can't you tell us who you are?— April 8, 2015 8:44 p.m.
That is what he said.— April 8, 2015 10:52 a.m.
Hedgecock left Friday.— March 31, 2015 10:56 a.m.
