Fallbrook Golf Course headed for the rough?
As of Monday morning, the Fallbrook Land Conservancy has removed the "Gird Road Property" from its list of "Preserves" on its website. Will Shakespeare, a member of the FLC board told me that it was mistake that it was included in that list (and appeared so until Sunday, January 31).

Fallbrook Golf Course headed for the rough?
To Roxanne Greene - Yes, according to Mary Niez, a San Diego County spokesperson, 60 (not 65) acres of the former 180 San Luis Re Downs golf facility just closed escrow and will become part of the San Luis Rey River Park. And while I agree that should have been included in the article, it is true that the other 120 acres are proceeding into the mitigation process with the Sausalito-based Conservation Land Group. That process is long and ongoing. The fact that the process is so long and open ended is part of the story. Clearly, the above article references the plight of that 120 acres.

Zaraguey is the cat
I just found out this show sold out. Alma from Queen Bees told me this article helped. Glad to help. There will be a second show Feb. 21. To me this was an obvious story for a TV crew considering that a/there is even a local band here in San Diego from Cuba, the country we are about normalize relations with after 55 years...b/these guys get hard core political against the most abusive (and popular) political figure in the country right now AT THEIR OWN PERIL...c/San Diego is truly becoming an international town, and d/what TV reporter wouldn't want to speak with a newly localized Cuban national who really wants to give his Trump his payback. Nobody else is. These guys are risking their citizenship while Bush and Rubio are wussies. I spoke with or emailed every single local TV assignment editor. NONE OF THEM got it. Sometimes I wonder if ANCHORMAN isn't really a farce after all. HAROLD GREENE LIVES! You can be in San Diego TV news if you have a great body and you are female and you give the weather. But other than that, if you have a brain, forget it. Back to you.

Bands for Bernie
These guys admit they are not political pros or event organizers. Yes it is/was kind of a mess, but I would say Mr. Monaghan it might be better to celebrate these guys' ability to pull something off and celebrate the music of these up and coming bands instead of kvetching about what went wrong. If it does rain, the World Beat Center is indoors.

Bands for Bernie
This event was "canceled" by one of the promoters on Tuesday. That's why this article was not posted online on Wednesday. Today we hear that the event was not ever really canceled and that it was the knee jerk reaction of one of the promoters who did not consult with the others. We heard today it was back on. That is why this article was posted today.

Goodbye Bieber, hello AC/DC!
Black Keys no less! Program director Garett Michaels says that while no brand new songs are being played at present, he would not rule it out in the future. He says this week his new "variety rock" station will have no DJs after DSC, but starting next week Sarah Perry will be live middays and Garett will do afternoons himself.
— January 4, 2016 10:56 a.m.
Goodbye Bieber, hello AC/DC!
KFMB-FM. No nickname. Clash, Green Day, INXS, Guns and Roses, Nirvana, Cars, White Stripes, ACDC. Looks like its is aiming for a rocking spot between Rock 105 and KGB mixed in with the heritage alternative library of 91X. Ramones meets Rush. A newer version of classic rock. Unlike Rock 105 and 91X there doesn't seem to be any new breaking artists. I'm guessing no ballads, just well-known upbeat familiar rock hits that don't rock too hard.
— January 4, 2016 10:31 a.m.
Goodbye Bieber, hello AC/DC!
So it's interesting to note that of the nine formats of the day, three were rock (Aerosmith, Van Halen and hair bands) and the Blues format had plenty of Zeppelin and Stones AND much newer cuts by The White Stripes and Alabama Shakes. I think the blues one-day mixtape may be saying a lot about the future of 100.7.
— January 3, 2016 12:16 p.m.
Goodbye Bieber, hello AC/DC!
To Charlie Sloan: I think you may have something! Hopefully you and new 100.7 new program director Garett Michaels are on the same wavelength. But to me, KLOS and especially KGB really sound tired. What if you could take the soul of what those stations used to be and update it a bit and graft it into the new 100.7? We can dream can't we? Right now KGB is like a rock 'n' roll wax museum, with limp DJs (many pre-recorded or "voice-tracked"), and no new music from the last ten years. We can hope that KGB's Foreigner/Styx/Kansas radio jukebox model will be swept away with a smarter, more vibrant musical mix. Oh, that we could have a station that would mix Zeppelin, The Kinks, Sabbath, The Ramones and The Black Keys. Am I asking too much? Maybe. But I think think that KGB has pooped in the broadcast drinking reservoir for way too long. Red blooded rockers from 25-55 with half a brain may be looking for something better in 2016.

Fallbrook Golf Course headed for the rough?
As of Monday morning, the Fallbrook Land Conservancy has removed the "Gird Road Property" from its list of "Preserves" on its website. Will Shakespeare, a member of the FLC board told me that it was mistake that it was included in that list (and appeared so until Sunday, January 31).— February 1, 2016 12:02 p.m.
Clearly, the above article references the plight of that 120 acres.— January 31, 2016 2:13 p.m.
Back to you.— January 29, 2016 9:46 p.m.
If it does rain, the World Beat Center is indoors.— January 29, 2016 6:21 p.m.
That is why this article was posted today.— January 29, 2016 3:56 p.m.
Slayed by Slashes
The Slashes appear January 16 at La Bodega art gallery in Barrio Logan.— January 13, 2016 5:48 p.m.
Goodbye Bieber, hello AC/DC!
Black Keys no less! Program director Garett Michaels says that while no brand new songs are being played at present, he would not rule it out in the future. He says this week his new "variety rock" station will have no DJs after DSC, but starting next week Sarah Perry will be live middays and Garett will do afternoons himself.— January 4, 2016 10:56 a.m.
I'm guessing no ballads, just well-known upbeat familiar rock hits that don't rock too hard.— January 4, 2016 10:31 a.m.
I think the blues one-day mixtape may be saying a lot about the future of 100.7.— January 3, 2016 12:16 p.m.
Red blooded rockers from 25-55 with half a brain may be looking for something better in 2016.— December 28, 2015 7:27 p.m.
