Hacksaw put to local radio once again
It needs to be known that Hacksaw did Chargers play by play for 11 years. Also, KNSD, then known as 7/39, gave him his own weekend sports show in 1990-91.

Earl Thomas, back from Europe (again)
Mr. Thomas says the phrase "pickup musicians" is not correct. Although he says he has in fact used picked musicians on both sides of the Atlantic, he now relies on specific, preexisting bands to back him when he tours Europe. He points out that he has long term touring relationships with BANDS rather than individual members including: 1987--1988 The Rhumboogies US 1989--1993 The Blues Ambassadors US 1993--1998 The Original Peepshow Boys Denmark 1998--2001 Blue Magic Denmark 2001--2009 The Big Sounds UK 2009--2017 The Royal Guard UK 2007--2008 The Kings Of Rhythm US 2013--2016 Blue Aspic Norway 2016--present The Marauders US "Qusai" what? I regret using the phrase "pickup musicians."

Oceanside's feelings ajumble over
Animal Kingdom
It should be noted that two producers with Warner Horizon TV who produced the show told me the OPD and the O'side Parks and Rec department were extraordinary helpful with the production. They particular called out Terry Goodman of the Parks and Rec department who retired from the city late last year but was retained on a per project basis to work with season two. Also, all the business owners connected with the location sites I spoke to said they "more than fair" (Sean Ambrose's words) in compensating for their trouble. Besides the crime perception part, the only real problem I heard about was that some neighbors complained over lights/noise from nighttime shoots.

The politics and image of real punk
Hey Punky Bewster....sorry again for my Misfits ignorance. If you ask me, the Misfits have always been more about T-shirts and less about their music. If everyone who had a Misfits T-shirt had a Misfits album, the band's music might have meant more than their logo, in my opinion. Still, I am not making excuses for error. It was mine and mine alone.

The politics and image of real punk
Calling "Children in Heat" an album and not a song was my mistake. Sorry it upset you so. Do you feel better now that you got us all straightened out? The phrase "old school punkers" never appeared in the article. Sound a little bitter do we? I can just hear it: "I sure told them!"

Chargers and Raiders — on our airwaves but not in our stadium
On the aforementioned Scott and BR show, Scott Kaplan said about the deal for Mighty 1090 to carry the Raiders: "I had it wrapped up." Until he explained that he didn't. Maybe no one told him that he wasn't the guy to be doing 1090's negotiating. I assume he knows now.

Dead Man's Party still standing
Anonymous trolls need love too. Let's all give 'em some love.

Dead Man's Party still standing
Have no clue what point you were trying to make with Dodger Stadium. All I said is that DMP played a, 8,500-seat venue in Costa Mesa last month where people paid (on average) twenty bucks admission. DMP regularly sells out the Belly Up Tavern. The Belly Up now books the Music Box. They chose DMP to play the Music Box last week. I don't think Hernandez' Oingo band has ever played the Belly Up. They chose DMP for the Music Box this time around. Elfaizy stands by what he says about the Galaxy and Canyon Club. Sure would have liked to have balanced his quotes with quotes from Hernandez or his agent. That's why I called his agent Rob Juarez at Boss Booking to speak with one of them. Elfaizy put his name on it. Who are you "danger8964"? I have no idea who you are. I do know who Hernandez and his agent Rob Juarez are. That's why I attempted to get a quote from them. As Elfaizy said, he is happy that the lawsuit threats and the mean social media posts have subsided. Both bands seem to be getting good gigs going forward. Hernandez and company are getting casino gigs and DMP is playing tonight at Slim's in the Bay Area. Elfaizy says he just wants both bands to be able and go out and play.
— August 5, 2017 4:41 p.m.
Dead Man's Party still standing
The bashings occurred at the Galaxy Theater (now Observatory) in Santa Ana, and at the Canyon Club In Agoura Hills according to Elfaizy who says he personally knew the employees at the Galaxy.

Dead Man's Party still standing
TO Chris Acosta who responded on facebook: Of course I should have spoken with Vatos for this article. That's why I called I called his agent Rob Juarez for comment. Oh but guess what? Juarez did not bother to call me back. He could have addressed this OR he could have put me touch with Vatos. Are you denying DEAD MAN"S PARTY didn't play the 8,500-capacity Pacific Amphitheater last weekend where the average ticket price was 20 bucks? Which by the ay is where Oingo Boingo played thirty years ago...Are you denying the success of last year's shows at the Hangar led to DMP getting booked at the Pacific Amphitheater this year? OK, so Vatos band is not a tribute band and Dead Man's Party is. So what's your point? Dead Man's Party admits that it is a tribute band. Elfaizy's whole point is that he hopes Vatos and his crew thrive. That both bands can thrive. He says Dead Man's Party never did anything wrong and that he just wants the threats and maliciousness to stop. Please understand the weirdness started over an incident when Vatos played a show that was billed as an Oingo Boingo reunion. Elfman told his former bandmates never to let it happen again.
https://www.sandiegoreader.com/news/2010/oct/13/b…
But more to the point of this story, Dead Man's Party/Elfaizy was threatened with a lawsuit two years ago by Vatos' manager.
https://www.sandiegoreader.com/news/2015/oct/21/b…
There never was a lawsuit. Every attorney I spoke with said it was a baseless lawsuit. The point of this story is that not every time you are threatened with a lawsuit is there anything to it. And what do you know! Are you denying that DMP/Elfaizy was not threatened with a lawsuit? Please see above mentioned article of two years ago. The point is, Elfaizy never wanted any problems. He just wanted the bad talking and the lawsuit threats to stop. And apparently they have. Would you like me to name the venues that over the years where Vatos or his representatives bashed DMP to venues? I would be happy to. I made it clear in the article that the bashings have stopped as of this year. Are you denying that the Elfaizy was not threatened by a lawsuit from Vatos' manager as was reported here two years ago? Does Rob Juarez not represent Vatos and his Oingo Boingo Dance Party any more? As of last week the OBDP website said he was the contact. And I tried to speak to him. Whose fault is it that he did not respond?

Hacksaw put to local radio once again
It needs to be known that Hacksaw did Chargers play by play for 11 years. Also, KNSD, then known as 7/39, gave him his own weekend sports show in 1990-91.— September 30, 2017 5:58 p.m.
I regret using the phrase "pickup musicians."— September 22, 2017 8:29 a.m.
Oceanside's feelings ajumble over Animal Kingdom
It should be noted that two producers with Warner Horizon TV who produced the show told me the OPD and the O'side Parks and Rec department were extraordinary helpful with the production. They particular called out Terry Goodman of the Parks and Rec department who retired from the city late last year but was retained on a per project basis to work with season two. Also, all the business owners connected with the location sites I spoke to said they "more than fair" (Sean Ambrose's words) in compensating for their trouble. Besides the crime perception part, the only real problem I heard about was that some neighbors complained over lights/noise from nighttime shoots.— August 29, 2017 11:50 a.m.
It was mine and mine alone.— August 24, 2017 5:30 p.m.
The politics and image of real punk
Calling "Children in Heat" an album and not a song was my mistake. Sorry it upset you so. Do you feel better now that you got us all straightened out? The phrase "old school punkers" never appeared in the article. Sound a little bitter do we? I can just hear it: "I sure told them!"— August 24, 2017 2:29 p.m.
I assume he knows now.— August 15, 2017 5:21 p.m.
Dead Man's Party still standing
Anonymous trolls need love too. Let's all give 'em some love.— August 6, 2017 12:16 a.m.
Elfaizy says he just wants both bands to be able and go out and play.— August 5, 2017 4:41 p.m.
Dead Man's Party still standing
The bashings occurred at the Galaxy Theater (now Observatory) in Santa Ana, and at the Canyon Club In Agoura Hills according to Elfaizy who says he personally knew the employees at the Galaxy.— July 29, 2017 4:04 p.m.
Elfman told his former bandmates never to let it happen again. https://www.sandiegoreader.com/news/2010/oct/13/b… But more to the point of this story, Dead Man's Party/Elfaizy was threatened with a lawsuit two years ago by Vatos' manager. https://www.sandiegoreader.com/news/2015/oct/21/b… There never was a lawsuit. Whose fault is it that he did not respond?— July 29, 2017 3:43 p.m.
