Vista's main pot promoter loses chance for own dispensary

Mike...Good point about the nonrefundable $10k application fee. It does seem exorbitant. The good part may be that the idiot who illegally and stupidly applied seven times gets a $70k fine. karma. Too bad he threw off the lottery for everyone else. Someone mentioned to me he should sue his attorney for allowing it.

Main Attraction leaving downtown Oceanside

To "a reliable source"....the property is in escrow. The city of Oceanside is showing graphics of the proposed development that will be going in. I thought you said the sale wasn't happening and the Main Attraction wasn't going anywhere. I would just like to know if you made this up or if someone there was lying to you. Sad.

To Linda Fitzgibbon....certainly Mr. Broom is outspoken about this. But what about Drew Andrioff who spoke before the council last summer when debris from a GoJump diver almost hit his 4 year daughter playing in the backyard and he said stuff falls out of the sky from Gojumpers all the time in his neighborhood. The fact is, this seems to be a completely unregulated strip of land with lights along it that calls itself an airport. There are others besides Mr. Broom who are surprised at how loosey goosey this "airport" is. It is supposed to be run by this company out of Burbank that never seems to be there. Anything goes here and the natives are starting to get restless. It was said in print last summer that this was an accident waiting to happen. Oops. It just did. Sure hope the poor passenger who is still in the hospital doesn't think he can sue Oceanside over this.

Oceanside council pick a done deal?

Interesting that Chris Rodriguez today is now saying the article is an example of "poor reporting." Funny, when we spoke last week he admitted that he was aware that social media was in fact overrun with comments that said the Witowich appointment was a done deal. He denied that and said he had open mind. I quoted him correctly and he had no issues with how I quoted him when I spoke with him face to face two days after the article came out. So why now, a week later, is he saying it was poor reporting? Hmmmmm.... Could it be that maybe he is getting upset because IT WAS a done deal and that Witowich WILL get the appointment tomorrow. I find it odd that the OPOA endorsed Witowich without interviewing other candidates. I sent a question to Mr. Ridenour about that and am looking forward to his response. I also find it odd Mr Witowich did not bother to return my call. Hmmmmmm..... He wants the job but he wants to keep his background secret? That's what Victor Roy did.

I heard from Vicki Gutierrez, Senior Property Agent with the City of Oceanside after this article was turned in. She said Ruby's lease runs through June 2023, with an option to extend it through 2028.

escondido has not had a left of center majority since Jerry Harmon got two like minded members elected in 1988. From what I have been told by people who know, Carlsbad has never had a left of center majority in its 66 year history as a city. until now. However there have been people elected here and there who didn't think developers should be able to do whatever they want including the late USMC Colonel Anthony Skotnicki and former asst. D.A. Mark Petine
