It's not over. Chargers given time to woo San Diego
Go SEAHAWKS!.— January 14, 2016 10:18 a.m.
Let the Chargers leave for logical reasons
Must be a British bus in the picture above. The doors are on the LEFT side.— January 14, 2016 10:17 a.m.
Goodbye Bieber, hello AC/DC!
Here in Seattle, we have a "Jack" station too, but independent station KEXP gets it right. It has DJ's that play everyhing and not just the same songs over. Out of towners can tune in at www.kexp.org. Give it a listen. (While growing up in San Diego in the 1960's, KGB AM was my favorite).— January 5, 2016 10:25 a.m.
UCSD's costly ad switch: Chargers to Trolley
I think Metro ought to retire the "Trolley" moniker. "Trolley" usually means "plodding, slow street car". North County calls thier system the "Sprinter", which evokes speed. Here in Seattle, our light rail is named "Link". I think "Clipper" would make a wonderful name for San Diego's light rail system, given the area's maritime setting.— July 16, 2015 10:51 a.m.
San Diego Metro transit reluctant to give bus passes to inner-city students
Back in the 1980's when it was "San Diego Transit" the agency's slogan was "Go San Diego Transit, Winners ride the Bus". As a transit rider here in Seattle I feel like a winner too.— July 16, 2015 10:43 a.m.
Hysteria won't build a stadium
I hope my hometown San Diego doesn't do what Seattle did. Tear down the unpaid for King Dome and build two new stadiums for the Seahawks and Mariners. I've been in the Seattle area for fifteen years now and it's Seahawks this and Mariners that, like they'r heros or something. Otherwise GO KOMETS!.— July 9, 2015 10:56 a.m.
North Island repair shop busts Navy's budget
I remember when it was called Naval Air Rework Facility (NARF), then Naval Aviation Depot (NADEP). I worked at NARF/NADEP North Island, then NADEP, Norfolk, VA on F-14's until it closed in 1996. It was easy to get hired there after coming off Navy active duty. These were great places to get experience and thus get hired at Boeing in WA state after I left Norfolk.— July 9, 2015 10:51 a.m.
Pit bull kills dachshund; Solana Beach man kills pit bull
"Dead Puppies- Deeaadd Puppies are not much fun" An actual song sung by Ogden Edsel, Really.— May 28, 2015 10:52 a.m.
Studio Diner stands out in Kearny Mesa
Should call it "Rudford's North" The oval windows says it all.— May 8, 2015 10:52 a.m.
Faulconer insider bags rich stadium deal
When growing up in S. D. in the sixties, I remember the time-lapse construction of then called San Diego Stadium on TV. Like the torn down King Dome here in Seattle where I now live, Qualcomm stadium seems perfectly good. Maybe the Chargers should change thier name to the Calif. Seahawks and get in the Super Bowl.— April 9, 2015 10:51 a.m.
