Everyone in OB has been talking about who the man was on the boogie board who surfers rescued on Sunday at North OB. Looks like they know who it is now. Maybe he had left his car in the beach parking lot & when it wasn't moved for some length of time, they figured it belonged to him? — March 6, 2013 9:45 a.m.
Faulconer returns with new ordinance banning oversized vehicles and trailers on City streets
I know for a fact that the people who reside in the Famosa Blvd. condos across from Correia Middle School in Point Loma will be jubilant over this news. They have been agitating Faulconer for years to get rid of the junky RV's and motor homes that littered their street. It is a great day in the neighborhood!— March 25, 2013 7:15 p.m.
Del Taco out, In-N-Out in in Encinitas
Hopefully, they will relocate the ill-fated Del Taco somewhere nearby since plenty of people like Del Taco food too. I'll take them any day over Taco Bell!— March 18, 2013 1:01 p.m.
100% commission at Nordstrom
This hits very close to home even though I worked at Robinson's-May. But my special talent--signing up people for store credit cards--kept the big bosses away from hassling me about my sales quotas. They would put me at a table out front and as people walked by, I would offer them a small gift if they filled out a quick application. I could hustle 20-30 credit apps per hour. I earned more money shilling those credit cards than I did from the commission I supposedly earned on the sales floor. I feel bad now thinking about all the people I probably helped dig an unaffordable credit card hole that they fell deep into.— March 14, 2013 7:18 p.m.
People's Food Co-op to expand – out of Ocean Beach?
Dear Pickle, I went to People's Co-op yesterday to buy a coconut & asked the produce guy your question--why doesn't People's just move into the old Apple Tree Market place, which has plenty of room? The employee told me the old Apple Tree building is loaded with asbestos and would require so much rehabilitating & cleaning up as to make it impractical to consider for People's.— March 14, 2013 4:10 p.m.
DA Bonnie Dumanis addresses San Carlos community
I understand where bbq & Visduh are coming from and I would normally agree that corruption is something to be condemned & fought against. I know I would be pissed if I lived in the South Bay and this monkey business was going on in my kid's school district.. But I also must caution those who hold out hope that Bonnie Dumanis and her jack-booted thug assistant D.A.'s will come riding to their rescue. Unfortunately, hopeful South Bay residents have made their bed with Bonnie in attempt to clean things up and they will have to lay in it with her. If the Sweetwater defendants have any kind of decent lawyers, it will become apparent that there have been other "pay-to-play" scandals all around town that Bonnie has not even blinked an eye at, yet she goes all out on the Hispanics in the South Bay. That is what's known as "selective prosecution." I wish every crook using our kids to fatten their wallets and cheat the system could be locked up. But do not think a despicable, tainted, Machiavellian hack like Dumanis will be the one to save you. I hope the Chula Vista jurors see through all this B.S. & help get rid of this incompetent scourge who dared to use their problems as publicity for her failed mayoral campaign.— March 12, 2013 1:34 p.m.

Awesome OB hippie fashion! Those bohemians really know how to put a hip outfit together!— March 11, 2013 12:45 p.m.
DA Bonnie Dumanis addresses San Carlos community
Let's not give Dopey Dumanis too many props just yet. A lot of her future is riding on what happens down in the South Bay with the school district personnel she "cherry-picked" to persecute for what Bonnie herself already does: "pay-to-play." If things don't go the Dirty D.A.'s way with that corruption trial in Chula Vista, it might not look so good for her come 2014. Let's hope the South Bay jurors see through the sham of this and do the right thing, which is always going to be OPPOSITE of whatever Dumanis is pimping or promoting.— March 11, 2013 12:43 p.m.

Todd Gloria, staffer, hotelier and spouse signed nomination paper for judge who ruled against Filner
Follow the money trail is always a good mantra. Todd Gloria may think he may be sucking up to the right people to boost his future prospects but he is more & more looking like a Democratic tool doing the dirty work of the Republican good ole boys downtown. Jennifer Tierney is a hack and I'm glad to see her Gemini Group is bleeding Dirty Dumanis dry from her failed bid to become Queen of San Diego.— March 7, 2013 8:06 a.m.
