Chula Vista school hurries to get ready for Arne Duncan
Rumor has it that Bleisch has said this is his last year at CPM. Must be a promotion in the works that Brand has promised him. Maybe head of the charter school that he is planning to open at that site?— September 8, 2013 10 a.m.
Chula Vista school hurries to get ready for Arne Duncan
Spoken like a male at CPM. Many teachers who put in hours and hours of their time and had great results to show for it were transferred out solely because they stood up for the kids and for themselves. No employee deserves to be trapped in an office and intimidated without easy access to get out. No male should ever use their size or power to intimidate a female employee without severe legal consequences. So maybe some of those females who were continuously assaulted verbally and intimidated physically by Mr. Bleisch did indeed reduce their after school hours - partially for fear of being left on campus with only him around. Perhaps they stood up and refused to teach English to their social studies classes because . . . ummm they are legally required to teach their content. YOu are misrepresenting the staff members who have been forced out or chosen to escape. Those remaining have been bribed or intimidated to the point of knowing that you either become a Bleisch Dog ie keep your mouth shut, rat out others who may say something negative, and you will be financially rewarded. But be careful, there are plenty who thought they were Bleisches dogs only to have him turn on them over night. You may be next!— September 8, 2013 9:57 a.m.

Hey Susan, MEG is indeed from Granger. Out of the classroom teacher "support" person.— September 8, 2013 9:45 a.m.

Quit defending Bleisch Maria. . . I mean "MEG". You have no idea what is going on at CPM from those on the inside who are not Bleisch's dogs. As others have said CPM is not dilapidated; in fact it looks much better than Granger even before the new paint job at your school. But you are correct, just like Bleisch, the GJH model used intimidation and fear. It followed no rules in terms of how you treat human beings. Look at the scores at GJH in the last several years. It's much like disciplining a child. You can beat a child into compliance and yes they will obey, but are they actually now compliant or are they just fearful. The truth is seen when the abuser departs and the child is able to choose how to function without the fear ruling them. If the Granger model truly changed kids internally then why is it that the scores at SUHI continued to be significantly lower - minus the one year when they magically went over 800 under the cloud of possible testing irregularities after which they dropped again? Why is it that scores have been dropping at GJH? So many questions, so few answers. And maybe the biggest question might be, why haven't you jumped ship and headed over to worship Bleisch with the others? Oh that's right, he doesn't hire females, he only abuses, intimidates and transfers them— September 8, 2013 9:40 a.m.

They have indeed been going on for the past year as has the push to get Duncan there. All last year the staff was hearing about the efforts to get Arne Duncan to visit the school.— September 8, 2013 9:32 a.m.

Ah, I now know who fireflycobra is :-) You testified at the pink slip hearings about how great you were and how you raised scores more than anyone else so you should not be threatened with losing your job. And yet your scores dropped significantly this year did they not? I'm sure that's not your fault though. As for benefits, no-one likes paying that much in health care but it is a trade off with our higher salaries. If you take the districts where teachers do not pay $500 a month for insurance, you will see that their salaries are drastically lower. Yes it is painful but that has absolutely nothing to do with the union, unless of course you are going to convince me that the vast majority of the membership would take a 10% pay cut in order to not have to pay for health benefits. Public and private sector costs for health insurance have increased over the past 5-10 years; check out the news once in awhile and you'll learn something. I'm sorry that for once the poor science teacher got a pink slip and was called out as being equal to everyone else. Pobrecito. If you really want to blame SEA for something, how about the small class sizes that science teachers get to enjoy. How about the fact that when you have 180 kids you are getting paid a 1/6 stipend and for me that's just called a typical day? Get over yourself. Be an agency-fee payer and quit trying to pretend that you are the majority.— January 25, 2013 7:04 p.m.

Funny how Fireflycobra (delgado or beale . . . hmmm tough call) is so convinced that the majority of teachers want Alex and leadership gone and yet they are voted in repeatedly for new terms by a large margin. The way FireFlyCobra throws around his/her all knowing knowledge it has to be one of the two PQ mafia members who believe everyone in the south bay voted for Pearl. And where exactly are these overachieving schools where they compare API scores to factors related to income. You truly do pull random crap out of nowhere! I'm sorry your bitter and haven't gotten your way as you've been bumped from school to school but you really are clueless and with your lack of knowledge you really shouldn't be speaking for the "majority of SEA members".— January 21, 2013 8:22 p.m.
