North Park Jack in the Box court case surprise
Wow, I wish I had so few problems that I could sit around worrying about the walls of a Jack In The Box.— September 26, 2017 4:34 a.m.
Community not happy with North Park park
We need CCW issuance reform. And we cannot deal harshly enough with crazed transients who threaten people. They should be beaten into unconsciousness and dragged away to be locked up. The hordes of stinking bums that flock to San Diego are bad enough, but the violent ones need to be suppressed IMMEDIATELY by any means necessary. We cannot have a civilized society where angry nuts can scream at and threaten people with impunity while the do-gooders clutch their pearls and moan about "compassion" and "services". It's time for the stick.— September 15, 2017 3:47 p.m.
San Ysidro Port of Entry after Carmageddon
“We will demand that we see a huge drop in 2019 of wait times." Or what?— September 15, 2017 3:43 p.m.
Short-term rentals thrive in East Village
I have never had a problem getting police to respond to noise complaints. Sometimes they haven't come as quickly as I'd like, but they come. They know that resolving the noise complaint now prevents bigger issues in an hour or tomorrow.— September 13, 2017 12:31 p.m.
Where will future Chula Vistans go to school?
Visduh hit upon American education unions' biggest threat: charter schools There, fixed it for you.— September 13, 2017 12:28 p.m.
Rip down Qualcomm and build new stadium?
I thought we were going to put thousands of homeless there to make room for thousands more to arrive?— September 13, 2017 12:27 p.m.
Imperial Beach welcomes LimeBike tentatively
Seems like an odd business model. What happens when someone leaves on in the 'hood, and nobody wants to go get it or the 'hood denizens tear it up? What happens if someone isn't happy with where one is left and just heaves it into a Dumpster? Or someone rides it to Tijuana?— September 13, 2017 12:26 p.m.
Where will future Chula Vistans go to school?
I have yet to have anyone explain what would be so terrible about instituting a moratorium on growth before we literally run out of space and resources. People love to claim, "Oh, but the growth is going to happen, where will the people go?" I don't know, maybe Oklahoma? If there's 100 houses and 101 families want to move in, one family can't. That's reality. Every time another development is built, we need more water, schools, roads, fire stations, hospitals, etc. But those things are never built along with the houses... we just hear that "we have to build, we have no choice!" Then, after building and they come, "We don't have enough water and roads and schools, we need more taxes!" How about just say no, we're going to stand pat and keep some open green space and not try to achieve 100% capacity? How about just tell some people, "Sorry, we're full, no room for you here. There are hundreds and thousands of other places to live in the country, nearly all of which are much cheaper than San Diego. Go, fly, be free, find your happiness!"— September 12, 2017 4:55 p.m.

Where should s/he go for lower rent? I'm the first to blast people for living beyond their means, but it's entirely possible that someone could be stretched without Nordstroms, casinos, concerts, etc. I usually say that people who can't afford to live here should move somewhere else, but that inevitably results in whining that I lack compassion and that it "isn't fair".— September 12, 2017 4:48 p.m.
Short-term rentals thrive in East Village
Why is it that the people who are so unhappy about AirBNB won't call the police on loud, abusive, disruptive people? That's far more effective than bleating for laws and bans.— September 12, 2017 4:44 p.m.
