Barack Obama in Barry Poppins
This is such an incredibly odd painting. It looks like the "artist" was trying to make him look Latin instead of black. And what's with the enormous hands? Disturbing on many levels...— February 16, 2018 11:34 a.m.
Del Mar fair board lowers boom on Kaaboo
Well, sure. Contracts have already been signed. There'd be enormous penalties for cancelling it. The question is, will there be a 2019 Kaboo?— February 16, 2018 11:31 a.m.
Dog on death row since December
What an astoundingly ignorant thing to say. Idiotic opinions are the dirt bags words of choice.— February 16, 2018 11:27 a.m.
Pride's prejudiced, says former director
I have to laugh at people arguing about who's the biggest victim in the room...— February 16, 2018 11:21 a.m.
Bank-card skimmers enjoy the high season
This. When your debit card is misused, you have to call the bank and say, "I have a problem. Will you please take that problem away from me?" With a credit card, you call the bank and say, "YOU have a problem."— January 3, 2018 3:32 p.m.
Union-Tribune to fold its operation into the Los Angeles Times?
The LA Times is even more of a rag than the UT has become. These crap newspapers deserve to fail.— January 3, 2018 3:10 p.m.
12 days of harassment and counting
For some reason, randos don't want to stick around and talk to me when the snarling pit bull is straining and lunging at her leash to get to them. All she wants to do is kiss you!— December 27, 2017 8:30 a.m.
A crystal-ball view into San Diego’s 2018 economy
...and? Anyone who finds they cannot afford to live in San Diego is always free to move. Those same Wal-Mart workers in many other places are easily paying rent, or even buying. Now, I know what happens next... the moans of, "If all of these people leave, who will flip your burgers and mow your lawn and clean your toilets?" Easy... look at what happened in North Dakota during the shale oil boom. The effective minimum wage rose, WITHOUT ANY GOVERNMENT ACTION, to over $17 an hour. But when you have a lot of uneducated, unskilled people; low- and un-skilled work simply is not going to pay much, and no law in the world can change that. If you find your labor to not be worth what you feel it should be worth, it's up to you to learn a new skill or move to where your labor has more value.— December 21, 2017 11:03 a.m.
A crystal-ball view into San Diego’s 2018 economy
All we have to do to avoid being "punished" is to vote for lower taxes. Why should the rest of the nation subsidize high-tax states like California? If we want to pay higher taxes, we should pay higher taxes, not try to get others to pay them for us. But that's the foundation of the Democratic Party... how to get their mitts on as much of OPM as possible.— December 21, 2017 10:58 a.m.
Home invader gets 180 days in the clink
I wouldn't want to be defending myself in court and have a post like this show up...— December 18, 2017 9:37 a.m.
