Dockless bikes and hepatitis
Fortunately, planes leave every day, so you don't have to put up with us. Go!— March 22, 2018 1:39 p.m.
Dockless bikes and hepatitis
“Your bikes just line up in the back of our kitchen door,” one frustrated business-owner explained to the LimeBike representative. “So we called your company to kindly ask you to relocate them, and they were like ‘There’s nothing we can do.’” Start pitching them into the nearest Dumpster. Suddenly, they'll find that there is something they can do after all.— March 13, 2018 3:02 p.m.
Dodge Ram trucks stolen for their Cummins motors
Thieves should always go to prison. Repeat thieves should stay there for life.— March 13, 2018 2:59 p.m.
Orange Avenue block sold – goodbye to real Coronado
"And because ownership rights trump citizens’ or local government or renters’ rights, all eyes were turned to the new owners." Why is this some sort of extraordinary situation, that the owner of a piece of property might <GASP!> choose to do what they want with it, and have their choice supersede that of those who do not own it? That sentence, right there, demonstrates *perfectly* what's wrong with this country.— March 13, 2018 9:44 a.m.
Woman accused of looting Bonsall home during fire
We HAVE to have zero-tolerance for looting. Frankly, looters and rioters should be shot on sight. Looting represents a fundamental breakdown of society that spreads like wildfire if not nipped in the bud. We're talking about a thief, a repeat criminal, and someone with multiple FTAs. She needs a long, long prison sentence; not another slap on the hand to be sent out to victimize more people.— March 12, 2018 9:19 a.m.
Baseball-bat attack
Christian Fischer clearly isn't firing on all eight cylinders. Trying to "talk" to aggressive, violent people? You AVOID them, not hunt them down and confront them!— March 6, 2018 11:25 a.m.
Kiddie matinee ends in bird-flipping silence
Yet another reason why I will never again go to a regular old movie theater or any kind of "discount" theater. For now, it's Cinépolis Luxury or nothing. The jackwads of the world can't afford to get in, and if they do, the theater staff actually acts... people with cell phones or screaming babies will get a chance to eliminate the distraction, or will be moving on.— March 2, 2018 11:18 a.m.
Paramedics can make more money bagging groceries
"Paramedics can make more money bagging groceries" But they don't. They don't want to bag groceries, they want to be paramedics. So do hundreds or thousands of others. There is no shortage of people willing to take the training and the job, hence wages are low. Maybe if 95% of them said eff this, there'd be a shortage and wages would go up. I get it... they're "heroes". They should make a lot more. But who should pay? "Not me!", right? "I already pay too much for insurance and prescriptions and doctor visits!"— March 1, 2018 10:17 a.m.
Doshay family agreed to pay $500,000
"Michael and Joy Paeske, the parents of the little girl, hired the law firm of Chihak & Martel to represent them against the school district, which they assert is liable for Doshay’s attack on their child because the school failed to provide a safe school environment and allowed Doshay access to the campus where he made contact with the girl." Bull. They see deep pockets, nothing more, nothing less. Of course they're going to try to craft a claim that will let them help themselves to taxpayer money. If they really cared about "safety" or "justice", they'd be demanding specific reforms, not a check.— February 20, 2018 11:01 a.m.
Point Loma recycling center evicted
"An Ocean Beach resident who wants Prince to stay said homeless people are scavenging because they aren't being served by the housing market." What kind of claptrap is that? They aren't being "served"? What a load of BS... if their only problem is that housing is too expensive, they'd move. The fact is, these transients are largely mentally ill. Most of the rest are drug addicts, drunks, criminals, lazy, stupid, useless lice. There are very, very few people out there who "just had a little bad luck"... they're there because of a lifetime of bad decisions. And the rest of us shouldn't have to put up with the garbage, the diseases, the thefts, the feces, the drug paraphernalia, etc. Recycling places that become bum magnets should be shut down or relocated until the bum infestation can be resolved.— February 20, 2018 10:59 a.m.
