Aggressive people and panhandlers move in on Eastlake
How long will it be until vigilante squads form to encourage the drug-addled transients to move along? Fortunately, the Sheriff's Department has been stung long and hard enough on their CCW issuance policies that they're loosening up. Anyone who cares about their families, their homes, and their neighborhood should get one, get training, and be ready to defend themselves and others.— April 18, 2018 4:14 p.m.
Clairemont braces for homeless housing
Yeah, that's it. They don't look like us. It isn't the feces, the drug paraphernalia, the aggressive panhandling, the crime, the fires, the garbage... it's just because we're scared of the nobility of the differences. I'm guessing you're one of these freeloaders, hanging out on your free phone, drinking, strumming your guitar, looking for the living you're so certain society owes you. WAAAAHHHH!— April 6, 2018 8:02 a.m.
Clairemont braces for homeless housing
His message to the powers-that-be about the “homeless problem” is this: “I don’t want to play their game of ‘Monopoly,’ I want to play the game of ‘Life.’ I don’t want to be your game piece, I want a chance at a real life. Too many greedy people living in stone houses are throwing those stones at those of us living in paper houses.” And this is EXACTLY why so many of us see transients as what they really are... lazy, entitled, useless lumps of flesh who simple want the "freedom" to do whatever they want. Don't like houses? Great... get the fµck away from mine, shitbag.— April 4, 2018 4:39 p.m.
Santana High over-reacts to gun
He was "trained" decades ago. He has to meet some minimal qualification every few years to keep his permit. Meanwhile, he puts on his pants one leg at a time like everyone else. He's just as prone to getting angry, drunk, senile, whatever. There is absolutely no reason for him to have any special privileges not afforded to any law-abiding citizen who meets the same criteria.— April 3, 2018 9:53 a.m.
Santana High over-reacts to gun
What's good for me is good for thee. If schools are supposed to be "gun-free zones", why should anyone but an on-duty peace officer carry? If it's OK for a retiree to carry his gun around and thud it down on a table, why can't I? And that's begging the question of why this guy gets to be a "supercitizen" in San Diego, when pretty much everyone else is precluded from being able to defend themselves anywhere but their own home or business?— April 3, 2018 9:51 a.m.
Bridgepoint slammed over veterans
No mention that Bridgepoint operated happily for eight years under Obama? It's only Trump that's a problem? The hallmark of an actual journalist is the ability to remove bias from reporting. It's sad to see that you cannot do so.— April 3, 2018 9:47 a.m.
Just another night in Gaslamp
But that's not FAAAIIIRRRR!!!— April 3, 2018 9:42 a.m.
Man jumps from OB Pier at midnight, body washes up at 3 a.m.
How dumb do you have to be to jump off of a pier?— April 3, 2018 9:34 a.m.
Clairemont: Touch and Go needs to go
It's been there for nearly eighty years. These whiners moved in after it was already there. Too bad, so sad. Pack your bags, Jack.— March 22, 2018 1:51 p.m.
10 bedrooms with their own bathrooms and closets — in National City
I do not understand why some people believe we should keep cramming more and more and more people into San Diego. Why do we need "density"? Why can't we have standard of living? Yes, I realize that not everyone can afford a stand-alone SFH with a yard here. So what? If you cannot afford to live here, the good news is most of the rest of the country is far more affordable. You *can* have that house... you just need to have it in Oklahoma, not at the beach.— March 22, 2018 1:45 p.m.
