Crossroads' last gun show at Del Mar Fairgrounds?
Really? Exactly how is humankind better off? Precisely how many criminals will not attack now? Oh, right, none, because criminals don't get guns from the most heavily-policed event in town. You're looking for what feels good instead of what actually addresses the problem.— December 18, 2018 9:39 a.m.
Birthday bonfire in Kit Carson Park
You're right. It isn't his fault. Just let him go. He didn't mean it. Maybe your home will be what he burns down next. Clown.— November 22, 2018 6:50 a.m.
San Diego's new wine region
I wasn't impressed with most of the wine from Valle de Guadalupe, and can't imagine this area is much better. Extremely earthy, tons of mouth-puckering tannins... no thanks. We did have some nice stuff from L.A. Cetto, and I'm sure there's much we didn't get a chance to explore, but I'd stick with Temecula wines 'round these parts.— October 26, 2018 12:23 p.m.
Intruder took shotgun away and assaulted homeowner
Why would you ever let an intruder get anywhere near arms reach of you? What did he think was going to happen?— October 26, 2018 12:18 p.m.
John Cox or Venezuela
Is that why thousands of Hondurans are streaming towards the United States? Waving the Honduran flag, of course, because that's how you announce you're fleeing a country where you're in fear for your life, and towards a land of hope and opportunity. Or is it the other way around, that they're fleeing a noble, non-white nation towards hatred and racism and nationalism and murder? I get confused sometimes...— October 26, 2018 12:16 p.m.
Waterfront pages, daylight saving, animal cruelty, Uber cruelty
I've had many cabbies that drove poorly, didn't speak English well, had to refer to maps, etc. Nearly every Uber or Lyft driver I've used has been friendly, drove well, and got me to where I was going with minimal muss or fuss. Other than McCarran in Vegas, where they know how to run a taxi queue, I can't see ever using a cab again. It's an obsolete business model that's dying and nearly gone, and I won't weep when it finally disappears.— October 26, 2018 12:10 p.m.
Live in rural East County? Get an air horn.
Fortunately, the Sheriff has decided to reform CCW issuance quite a bit, so if you want to be able to carry to protect yourself in the "back country", there's a pretty good chance you can do that now.— October 12, 2018 3:11 p.m.
Main Attraction leaving downtown Oceanside
“But they fought back using the First Amendment,” That's just awful... those terrible people, doing terrible things, and hiding behind the Constitution like that! Don't they understand that "free speech" doesn't mean speech that I disapprove of?— October 11, 2018 1:35 p.m.
Oceanside's Firewater Saloon feels unwelcome
I would believe they *gross* $300K per year. Net? No freaking way. That would be the most profitable bar of all time. Even Vegas nightclubs with bottle service don't net $150 per foot. Would love to see the P/Ls, but that ain't gonna happen, unless I were to be interested in buying it. But I have zero interest in running a business in California.— September 24, 2018 6 a.m.
Swerved into Oceanside bike lane with stolen Honda
I thought deportation was racist, that the poor immigrants who are only missing a little paperwork should be welcomed and shielded and protected? What do we do when he just strolls back across the border to kill again?— August 7, 2018 8:19 a.m.
