My eccentric Golden Hill landlord
Wow, this was a good read. I'll probably always keep wondering what really happened to Rod.

Weird start for O.B. bar under new ownership
RE rebuttal comments, I'd counter that this was a newsworthy incident, well-covered here, with both customer and operator given the opportunity to present their differing POVs. I don't see it as "hating on OB" - even when noting where it took place, the reporter just says Newport Avenue. The only reference to OB is unavoidable, due to it being the name of a related business, OB Noodle House.

The
Reader's
record-release roundup for May
Outtake: When former Steve Miller guitarist Greg Douglass debuts his *Flight of the Golden Dragon* CD at Carlsbad Village Theater on May 22, the cover of the album (recorded at Earthling Studios with Mike Kamoo) will sport artwork by famed dinosaur artist William Stout. “I came across him at San Diego Comic Fest in February and was thrilled that he could make himself available to do the piece on short notice,” says Douglass.

Stuart Caldwell opened soul-food restaurant in Tijuana
So well written, entertaining, and thought provoking that I didn't even mind the multiple unsubtle commercial plugs for his "southern soul food shack"! I might even drop by and try the food next time I'm in TJ ---

April's record-release roundup

http://www.sandiegoreader.com/bands/lexington-fie…
] just re-recorded six songs from their first three albums at Weathertop Studio with Matt Maulding, and Skelpin [

Technicolor Munsters!
Delightful writeup of an old flick that really is much more fun to watch than one would expect, even/especially for those of us on Team Addams. I like Herman and company fine, but umpteen reruns later it's more of a play-in-the-background experience for me. When an Addams Family ep is screening, I tend to pay more attention, no matter how many times I've seen it. I guess then, for me, Munsters are entertaining, but Addams are engaging. However, if any character from either sitcom could be stranded on that topical isle WITH me, I'd vote for one of the Marilyns (especially since I'd likely get a new one every other season or so!) ----

Local Legends Profile: DJ Jim McInnes, Homegrown Hero
"This Saturday, April 2, I will return to the station where I made my reputation, 101KGB," reports the legendary local DJ. "I will be on the air every Saturday afternoon, ALL afternoon, noon 'til 6 pm!"

My eccentric Golden Hill landlord
Wow, this was a good read. I'll probably always keep wondering what really happened to Rod.— May 25, 2016 3:16 p.m.
The only reference to OB is unavoidable, due to it being the name of a related business, OB Noodle House.— May 4, 2016 1:59 a.m.

The Reader's record-release roundup for May
Outtake: When former Steve Miller guitarist Greg Douglass debuts his *Flight of the Golden Dragon* CD at Carlsbad Village Theater on May 22, the cover of the album (recorded at Earthling Studios with Mike Kamoo) will sport artwork by famed dinosaur artist William Stout. “I came across him at San Diego Comic Fest in February and was thrilled that he could make himself available to do the piece on short notice,” says Douglass.— April 27, 2016 5:17 p.m.
Stuart Caldwell opened soul-food restaurant in Tijuana
So well written, entertaining, and thought provoking that I didn't even mind the multiple unsubtle commercial plugs for his "southern soul food shack"! I might even drop by and try the food next time I'm in TJ ---— April 6, 2016 11:15 a.m.
April's record-release roundup

Marie Haddad [http://www.sandiegoreader.com/bands/marie-haddad] is at Singing Serpent Studios with producer Ben Moore working on her next release.
However, if any character from either sitcom could be stranded on that topical isle WITH me, I'd vote for one of the Marilyns (especially since I'd likely get a new one every other season or so!) ----— March 30, 2016 4:45 a.m.
