Officially, Papa Doug DOES Buy NC Times
God save us all (from Papa Doug!)— September 11, 2012 2:10 p.m.
Sonoma County Supervisor Arrested at Downtown Nightclub
Gov. Brown: Do not commute the sentence if this politico is found guilty of the misdemeanor or else you will suffer the wrath of cravenly ambitious D.A. Bonnie Dumanis, who might be running for office again and wish to make political hay and grandstand like she did with the Santos commutation! Watch out!— September 11, 2012 1:19 p.m.
Ocean Beach Apartment Residents Riled Over Thefts
Just for the record, @viewer, SurfPuppy619 is one of the more erudite and valuable members of the Reader commentary pages. He inevitably makes sense and always seems to have something pertinent to contribute. I would like to add that last week, my old 20 year old, junky bike was stolen in broad daylight in my front yard. This time, though, I think it was some punk kids who did it & not the usual culprits. No matter, I have now become ANOTHER victim in the long-running mismanagement saga of MC.— September 8, 2012 8:04 p.m.
City Attorney Jan Goldsmith endorses Carl DeMaio for mayor
SurfPuppy619, Goldsmith hails from Poway & that would be dead raccoon (road kill) on his head, not a squirrel! DeMaio has enough Hillcrest style and gay pizzazz to insist that if Jan plans any mayoral campaign appearances with him, Goldsmith must only wear his high-quality possum pelt on that shiny dome! http://sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2012/sep/0…— September 6, 2012 7:44 p.m.
Ocean Beach Apartment Residents Riled Over Thefts
What I am told is the problem, is that many of the trouble-makers moved into the complex with the old lease agreement, which allows for just the felons and druggies to be evicted but the rest of the family gets to stay (it is known as the "loophole.") Only the felons and other thugs DON'T stay out and come back to cause more trouble. Several of the families the office has tried to evict, including the Chambers, run right to a pro bono attorney who files some kind of "discrimination" motion and stops the eviction process. The bad seeds then are rewarded for their behavior & get to live rent free! They just pay the monthly court costs! The sad part is: there are many upstanding, decent people who also live at Mariner's Cove that get to suffer and pay the price for all the bad people living there the office just cannot seem to get out. You take your chances when you live @ MC.— September 2, 2012 1:13 p.m.
Tilted Kilt waitresses and other San Diego bar girls sound off
Ladies, what news is this...that men are gross? Once in a little while, you might come across a decent one but for the most part, it's time to get real. When the biological clock starts to tick for you when you hit your 30's, it's time to suck it up and find a man so you can get married or be a mom, if that's what you want? My advice: stay out of bars and clubs--NOTHING ever good comes of it. You gotta get out there and mingle but that can be done through travel, hobbies, friends, sports and blind dates. Not everyone will hit the jackpot in the love department and there are lots of frogs to kiss before you meet the prince, but if you stay home watching chick flicks and eating ice cream, you will only get FAT and look pathetic! http://sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2012/sep/0…— September 1, 2012 6:36 p.m.
Ocean Beach Pier Jump Goes Unpunished
He should just say that he is a Junior Lifeguard practicing for their big pier jump in the dark.— August 28, 2012 12:06 p.m.
Ocean Beach Entrance Sign Under Attack!
If no one choice of a new sign is given an outright mandate, I would ask the OB organizers here to consider a proposal to Mark Patterson, the Surfing Madonna artist. I will help put together or work at any charity fund-raiser organized to pay his fee, if the good north county artist is agreeable to helping his fellow beach city to the south with our new sign.. But I want everyone to know I am not trying to step on any toes or ruffle any feathers and I would approach Mark Patterson only if requested. Javajoe25 is right: a mosaic would be very cool!— August 22, 2012 7:38 a.m.
Ocean Beach Entrance Sign Under Attack!
If the Surfing Madonna artist made the OB entry way mosaic, the bong smoke would be HOLY SMOKE!— August 21, 2012 10:18 p.m.
Car Thief Leaves His Wallet Behind
Jonathan Chambers has a long laundry list of crimes dating back to his juvenile period. I can tell you the ones I know about. He was arrested a few years back for heaving eggs at passing cars on West Pt. Loma Blvd. He likes to hang with his homies and smoke bongs in the parking lots of the complex. No matter that little kids are playing nearby at the playgrounds. He makes a habit of driving by residents who he does not care for (such as myself) and yelling "fat bitch" and "f--- you" on a regular basis. He got mad late last year and put his fists through his own bedroom window, breaking it and scattering glass all around. He has been on house arrest and the management office has forbid him to "loiter." When his own mother tried to discipline him and threaten to send him off to live with his Navy father up in Washington state, Jon Chambers slit his wrists and went outside to rub his blood all over the neighbor's cars outside his home. Good riddance to bad rubbish, as my dear mother liked to say.— August 16, 2012 8:32 a.m.
