FM 94/9 Out of the Sahara
Good for Garett Michaels that he sticks up for the Mikey Show. As much as all the whiners may gnash their teeth, at the end of the day-radio is a business. Mikey may annoy some people but there are plenty others that like him and his crew-enough to bring up the 94.9 morning ratings and pays some bills in the meantime. Those who booed Mikey at the Rimac show should be ashamed of themselves. Not only was that not cool, but rude and inappropriate. Mikey serves as a good example of how someone who was once broken is made whole through faith. I adore Mikey and can always listen to music after 10 AM. Haters-take a hike!

Roth, Rhymes with Goth
Robin Roth is the anti-DJ! I am sure she has an ego but you would never know that she is all puffed up & full of her own importance. She is the kind of person who actually THANKS YOU on Facebook when you wish her a Happy Birthday. I am so happy she is back on the scene again & I really like listening to her mellow schtick on 91x. Robin Roth rhymes with awesome.

Robbery Suspects Chased from Ocean Beach to Point Loma
I have to say that the cops did a good job that morning of cleaning that house up and getting all the people out right before the school bell rang across the street. SWAT was gone by the break of daylight. I dropped my son off that morning right across the street from Skateboard City and didn't notice one thing amiss! But everyone at school was talking about it and still is!

The Shake Down on Midway
I was just at The Shakedown this past week & it was awesome! Kinda a funny-shaped building but the music rocked and the drinks were stiff. I would say to everybody: go check it out for a good time.

Robbery Suspects Chased from Ocean Beach to Point Loma
This was no accident-this was a drug deal gone bad and the repercussions of it played out right across the street from a public high school. The author did not disclose the mother's job title and the kid that lost his arm has youtube videos of himself online so it's not like he's an unknown. I commend the Reader for getting the details out and breaking stories with information that is timely and answers many more questions than other media sources will attempt to do. Nay-sayers and complainers should go back to the dregs of the U/T. Good job to the Reader!

A Dandy Night at Belly Up
I thought that the band seemed high at the show-which is not surprising. The crowd interaction was minimal but still I enjoyed the Dandy's tremendously. They are quite an acquired taste, and in my opinion-a very critically underrated band. I enjoyed my Belly-Up evening getting War-holed!

Diana Gonzalez Murder Case Prompts March on San Diego D.A.’s Office
This poor woman's murder is a perfect example of the hypocrisy of Bonnie Dumanis. She is so busy sucking up to the big shots and good ole boys in town, that she has forgotten her obligation to ALL of the people in San Diego. If you are not rich, well-connected, a Charger player or someone that belongs to a powerful union, watch out! Bonnie doesn't care about the little folks like Diana Gonzalez-they can't do anything for her politically. I have jury duty at the courthouse that day but I intend to try and make it out there to show my support for their protest. San Diegans should be ashamed of themselves for voting this poor excuse for a politician into office here so many times. No wonder everyone laughs about how are brains have been fried by the hot California sun! BTW-I have my own personal beef with Bonnie. She will prosecute a case, even though it is wrong or based on lies and innuendo, IF she thinks the person being prosecuted is an easy conviction. JUSTICE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT! BEWARE: You may be her NEXT victim! She came after me and I dragged her DA's office through the mud with me right until the very end, where I made them drop all charges against me except one.--(emailing a pedophile 91X DJ) and plead out to 1 count of breaking a court order. Bonnie did not relish me demanding a jury trial with the nasty plaintiff she had on her dirty hands! Bonnie will rue the day she ever took the side of a lying creep because I intend never to let her forget it either. Please join the Facebook group-"RECALL BONNIE DUMANIS" if you have seen the light. She is a judicial AFFRONT to LESBIANS, WOMEN, the JUSTICE SYSTEM and any San Diegan who might value FAIRNESS, TRUTH & HONESTY in Gov't!

David Elliott’s Declaration of Pleasure
Yes-it's true. Duncan will be missed but there is no denying his "reviews" were way over the top of most "Reader" reader's heads. That doesn't mean they weren't somewhat useful, erudite and well-written. But more so for a Film Criticism Seminar in the Visual Arts Dept. at UCSD rather than a mainstream general publication like the Reader. However stuffy Duncan can sometimes be, he is the progeny and proverbial intellectual son of the great, departed Manny Farber-a man so intelligent, creative, and talented-that he puts mere mortals to shame. I hope than Duncan Shepard can now take the time to sit down at his desk-unencumbered by the pesky demands of a weekly Reader column and write the great ode to Manny Farber. Yes, Jean-Pierre Gorin can also collaborate on this tome to immaculate renaissance man Farber . I bid a fond adieu to Duncan Shepard and thank him for all his oeuvre of film work over the years and may his restless cinematic spirit rest-in-peace, knowing that much of San Diego does actually respect him for the most part-however obtuse and incomprehensible his written film reviews have previously been.

Two Weeks on the Pavement at Liberty Station
This brought back memories of the 2 "Sleepless in San Diego" events I participated in at Liberty Station. For some reason-probably the nearby Bay-it is extremely damp down there at Liberty Station. I am a light sleeper on a good night so I had quite the ordeal trying to get some shut eye outdoors here. The first Sleepless I went to, the weather was so drizzly and foggy, that the planes were coming in to land at Lindbergh Field over the ocean. Consequently, they were descending very low over Liberty Station up until almost midnight. Sleepless indeed. Despite my sturdy sleeping bag and layers of clothing, I begun shivering and could not stop-I literally got no sleep that first night at all. This past April, I thought I would be more "street smart" on my second Sleepless and brought 2 sleeping bags, lots of extra clothes and some knock-out pills. But I neglected to cover my items as I enjoyed the music and Sleepless in San Diego speakers. Thus I came back to my bunk and found everything covered in a damp dew! That was another Sleepless night-despite the pills- shivering under the Liberty Station stars! I do not know how the homeless do it night after night? Props to this gentlemen in the story for trying to raise some money for a good cause!

Haters-take a hike!— January 14, 2011 10:42 a.m.
Robin Roth rhymes with awesome.— January 13, 2011 12:05 p.m.
But everyone at school was talking about it and still is!— December 18, 2010 6:12 p.m.
The Shake Down on Midway
I was just at The Shakedown this past week & it was awesome! Kinda a funny-shaped building but the music rocked and the drinks were stiff. I would say to everybody: go check it out for a good time.— December 18, 2010 6:08 p.m.
Good job to the Reader!— December 17, 2010 1:53 p.m.
A Dandy Night at Belly Up
I thought that the band seemed high at the show-which is not surprising. The crowd interaction was minimal but still I enjoyed the Dandy's tremendously. They are quite an acquired taste, and in my opinion-a very critically underrated band. I enjoyed my Belly-Up evening getting War-holed!— December 17, 2010 12:41 p.m.

Hey ya'll, don't miss the Dandy Warhols! They are fabulous live!— December 7, 2010 9:27 a.m.
She is a judicial AFFRONT to LESBIANS, WOMEN, the JUSTICE SYSTEM and any San Diegan who might value FAIRNESS, TRUTH & HONESTY in Gov't!— December 4, 2010 5:18 p.m.
I bid a fond adieu to Duncan Shepard and thank him for all his oeuvre of film work over the years and may his restless cinematic spirit rest-in-peace, knowing that much of San Diego does actually respect him for the most part-however obtuse and incomprehensible his written film reviews have previously been.— November 20, 2010 9:10 a.m.
Props to this gentlemen in the story for trying to raise some money for a good cause!— November 2, 2010 8:23 p.m.
