An Attempt to Slow Down Point Loma Speeders
@Visduh I respectfully disagree with you. Traffic calming measures are probably the next step. These people that live here are rich and probably well-connected. They could have a speed bump or blinking SLOW signs put up very quickly. However, just calling attention to the fact that speeding is being recognized is like what community outreach does-it gets stuff noticed. Which is what I think the little green plastic man will do, albeit in a very low-key and non-antagonistic manner.

San Diego DA Bonnie Dumanis to Run for Mayor
I agree with SurfPuppy619. We can despise the utter mendacity and worthlessness of Bonnie Dumanis without dragging her propensity for carpet-munching into the fray. However, just like Railsplitter, I have also received a taste of Bonnie's idea of justice-which is really a bogus persecution for the sake of looking like she's hard on crime. So I understand Railsplitter's rage and desire for (verbal) comeuppance. We should all band together and get our Bad Bonnie stories out. If you go check on
Yelp.com
San Diego, Bonnie's supporters from Beantown Boston are now getting on there and trying to reverse all the "1" Yelp Stars her Bonnie Dumanis for Mayor 2012 group is getting. The idea of this reprehensible pol thinking she even has a chance at being mayor is preposterous! The fact that there are so many other much better candidates- waiting in the wings to throw their hat into the ring- shows just how out-of-touch Bonnie Dumanis really is!

San Diego DA Bonnie Dumanis to Run for Mayor
@Ponzi. You are astute and eagle-eyed because I omitted the word "lesbian" as being the first LGBT mayoral candidate put forward to the voters. I do recall Susan Golding and I even campaigned for Maureen O'Connor when she ran for office. I know the Advocate is very excited at the thought of Bonnie and I do applaud there being a wide range of candidates with many different backgrounds and life experiences. My problem is not with any one's sexual orientation; it is that someone so absolutely morally deficient as Bonnie would even think she might try and be mayor. San Diego has enough problems without a corrupt, unethical hack at the helm. Yes I know Mayor Saunders is no great shakes but I don't think Saunders ever made a deal with the devil for political gain. Once I get through a pile of scholarship applications I am helping my son with, I intend to sit down and concentrate on writing an expose on Bonnie's municipal misdeeds! I suppose I was so agitated in my comments about that shrew from the east, that I ommitted including the very important "lesbian" designation. Forgive me, Ponzi.

San Diego DA Bonnie Dumanis to Run for Mayor
I am sorry to see that the best (and first) woman candidate San Diego can put forward to run for mayor is this affront to justice and fairness. Bonnie Dumanis is nothing more than another San Diego good ole boy dressed in lesbian's clothing. She has no regard for the truth or for doing what is right. She only cares about herself and her political future. Everything else is expendable and she is the worst example of a manipulative, unprincipled hack that San Diego DOES NOT NEED in the mayor's office. Don't be fooled, citizens of San Diego! YOU could be Bonnie's next victim, if she deems you an easy conviction to pad her "crime fighting" portfolio that she will surely tout in her campaign. She sent her goons after me, but I fought back. It was not easy but now she has me nipping at her heels. There are so many more worthy candidates out there who actually CARE about YOU! Don't be misled by her lies and drivel-you will get the kind of city leader you deserve! VOTE NO ON DUMANIS! Stand up for clean government and leaders with morals and ethics.

Legendary Clapton
Where is any kind of mention about the wonderful opening band-Los Lobos? This reviewer, while so busy gushing about Eric Clapton, failed to mention what brought a lot of people to the show also. The Clapton concert was indeed powerful and I also was impressed with the virtuoso guitar skills displayed but this review is incomplete, as far as I am concerned. And it could use some serious editing, as well.

Union Members Picket Fresh & Easy Stores
I worked at Henry's Marketplace years ago in the 1990's when this same Labor Union would aggressively picket that non-union store and the union rhetoric got very heated out there along the "public" sidewalks. Now it seems that the Labor Unions are showing their teeth due to the victory of Wal-Mart's efforts to bypass the City Council and get some new stores built selling groceries around town. The unions have to show their members-whose dues is AUTOMATICALLY deducted from their own paychecks-that they are doing "something" to combat these non-union encroachers. I did ask about this up at the Fresh & Easy and the employee I spoke with said that it is known that there are a couple of F&E insiders who are the ones doing the internal agitating. He said that most of the employees just want to keep an arm's length away from all the union politics and BS.

Tomorrow or Something
Such a good band! Great songs! Powerful live performances! They turn up in all the cool dive bars! The Spring Valley Sheriff's Dept. shut them down last week when PA was playing a "secret show" at Shooter's Cocktails on Jamacha Rd. Supposedly "too loud!" Punk credibility is top notch! PA has HOT, SEXY but INTELLIGENT groupies! Tim Pyles at 94.9 has played their music & featured them live from the Casbah! Coming up: A NUDIE SHOW this summmer at a "clothing-optional" concert! HOW COOL IS THAT? Get yourself "Privatized!"

Hodad's Hosts Cage the Elephant
I hope the Hodad's staff fixed up those Kentucky boys with a great, tasty, famous Hodad's burger and those big yummy fries. Cage the Elephant did put on a great little show. Thanks to 94.9 for that!

FM 94/9 Out of the Sahara
I am not going to get in a war of words with sageofsantee, but I will say that it is surely a misnomer for this sage commenter to even associate him/her self with sagacity because the previous comment castigating Mikey and his witnessing on the radio is spiritual folly. Jesus said in Acts 1:8, "...you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth." The witnessing Mikey does-whether some people deride it as fake or Mikey as a hack is irrelevant. Witnessing is an act of faith-most especially to unbelievers. It is Holy Spirit-derived. Furthermore, "sage" of santee, you will note that since you have felt free to criticize Mikey's testimony, keep in mind this passage in the New Testament- Mark 12:31: "So I tell you, people can be forgiven for every sin, and everything they say against God. But whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven...now or in the future." This means that slamming people who have sincere testimony is folly. Not that you cannot do it or shouldn't do it. There is always the option of "free will." I don't agree with every thing that Garett does at 94.9 but I do respect his spine in backing the Mikey Show. So, "sage" of santee, perhaps it might behoove you to listen to Mikey at 9:30 AM on Friday's, when he speaks from the heart to help heal broken people that need forgiveness. Matthew 15:11 "It is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth that defiles a person." It is not just in the Reader's Sheep & Goats that you will find Bible-thumping!
— January 18, 2011 10:22 a.m.
FM 94/9 Out of the Sahara
I cannot understand all the vitriol against The Mikey Show on 94.9. Does anyone even remember how bland and uninspiring the previous morning show was? Now, I like Hanson and Tommy is very environmentally correct, but their Music in the Morning was yawn-inducing. Garett and 94.9 have every right to put on the air whatever they want and if you clowns out there don't like it, switch the channel. It seems enough listeners followed Mikey over to 94.9 that their advertising revenue has increased-which is what most station business managers and program directors like. It is not necessary to personally insult Mikey and his crew at Holiday parties-of all places. The ignoramuses that feel comfortable enough hooting at Mikey-a good man-best take their sticky fingers and place it on their stolen car radio. Turn it to 91X-where there is plenty of the kind of "music" they are looking for. Mikey is a role model for EVERY man out there-listening or not. Something to think about for those witless wonders who like to "boo" Christians at Christmas.

Which is what I think the little green plastic man will do, albeit in a very low-key and non-antagonistic manner.— March 27, 2011 8:56 a.m.
If you go check on Yelp.com San Diego, Bonnie's supporters from Beantown Boston are now getting on there and trying to reverse all the "1" Yelp Stars her Bonnie Dumanis for Mayor 2012 group is getting. The idea of this reprehensible pol thinking she even has a chance at being mayor is preposterous! The fact that there are so many other much better candidates- waiting in the wings to throw their hat into the ring- shows just how out-of-touch Bonnie Dumanis really is!— March 18, 2011 7:15 p.m.
Forgive me, Ponzi.— March 16, 2011 7:43 a.m.
Stand up for clean government and leaders with morals and ethics.— March 14, 2011 7:40 a.m.
And it could use some serious editing, as well.— March 9, 2011 7:03 a.m.
He said that most of the employees just want to keep an arm's length away from all the union politics and BS.— February 27, 2011 7:38 a.m.
Get yourself "Privatized!"— January 31, 2011 7:11 p.m.
Hodad's Hosts Cage the Elephant
I hope the Hodad's staff fixed up those Kentucky boys with a great, tasty, famous Hodad's burger and those big yummy fries. Cage the Elephant did put on a great little show. Thanks to 94.9 for that!— January 31, 2011 1:36 p.m.
Matthew 15:11 "It is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth that defiles a person." It is not just in the Reader's Sheep & Goats that you will find Bible-thumping!— January 18, 2011 10:22 a.m.
Something to think about for those witless wonders who like to "boo" Christians at Christmas.— January 15, 2011 1:31 p.m.
