Next up: Sweetwater's sodbuster supe
I'm afraid to hope. Welcome Mr. Stover.— March 15, 2015 9:17 p.m.
Only a fence between them
Brand is gone along with his grandiose ideas. Maybe we should ask the new Sweetwater Board and the Chula Board to have a mtg behind closed doors. It appears that Mr. Tamayo is pushing transparency for the community. Thank God! Maybe it's time to join forces (not unification) Lets remove the middle men and ask the boards to communicate with each other, then have a huge public mtg and see what the voters think. Thanks again for keeping the people in the know Susan. How else would we know what goes on behind closed doors. That alone is pretty scary when you think about it. It appears CV elem.does things like SUSHD did in the past.— February 21, 2015 7:57 a.m.
Land sakes, Sweetwater, get it together
Interesting, the meeting is mandated by the City of CV as a requirement for zoning changes. I pray this board isn't complicit in this. I guess it's time for them to shit or get off the pot so to speak. Is Glover and Calhoun truly doing this behind their backs? I'm starting to get a bit nervous here.— February 3, 2015 7:21 p.m.
Catching up with John
A few of years ago I attempted to serve McCann at a SUHSD board mtg.at Sweetwater High School. I was asked to do it because he was successfully evading everyone else's attempt. Some of you may remember that evening. I approached him and he physically ran from the meeting. He jumped in his car and waved at me with a big smile on his face as he sped out of the parking lot. He later told the press that he received an emergency call and had to leave. When he was served this time before the City Council meeting one of his stupid comments was to vote for McCann. What a bad actor this man is. I must say I did take pleasure in this successful attempt.— February 2, 2015 8:05 a.m.
Catching up with John
What facts in this story are you basing you comments on?— February 2, 2015 7:48 a.m.
Don't mess with Texas' labor pool
I'm impressed with this board thus far. I only hope they realize the treachery that goes on behind their backs. They are on a steep learning curve and need to be conscious of what is going on around them. It's really too bad but that is the way it is until they figure out who is who so to speak. Their efforts to be transparent thus are amazing. What a monumental task they have taken on. I hope they can remain strong while on this huge learning curve. The community appears to be with them.— January 29, 2015 4:16 p.m.
Horton's at the door
A special election no surprise. No surprise Malcolm will be paying for Horton's run. Bensoussan and McCann help me understand this. I guess this is a sign of things to come for our new mayor. The power struggle has just begun. Who will prevail?— January 11, 2015 8:11 a.m.
The vote swinger
Politics certainly change relationships. I know it's a costly adventure, but I think the entire South Bay political scene is questionable.Let the people vote. I don't trust any of them! The scary part is that in an election Shirley Horton will have the financial advantage with big money backers. And of course she will be beholden to them. Rumors are rampant about a relationship between Horton and David Malcolm, with him possibly backing her campaign if necessary. With John McCann in her camp who knows what could happen when the vote is taken on Thurs. All rumors I know but then again???— January 5, 2015 8:21 a.m.
It would have been prudent...
Me thinks I smell a lot of rats. I only hope this new board knows how to get us out of this continued mess. No public hearings, just the same old business of rubber stamping, that we have lived through already. I'm not sure why this temporary board continues to attempt to carry on business after saying they wouldn't. Is it because they should have intervened long long ago when asked. This does reflect badly on them, then and now. Why would this community want Glover as a Supt.after all the lies he has supported. These people can not leave quickly enough. We are missing something here. This isn't just about 68,000k from CV.— November 25, 2014 6:59 p.m.
Ed's gone, but this Sweetwater shenanigan isn't
All I want for Christmas,is a new board that will work for the public not themselves. I want the self serving temporary board gone. I want them to take Tim Glover with them. Nice guy but we need strong leadership, and someone who thinks independently and has his own opinions and strength. Im fearful that the new board may feel they need Glover because of the newness of their situation. Glover is good at putting you at ease until you find out there is no real strength in his spine. This is the opportunity to really clean house. The gifts of public funds through the property deals need to be dealt with one way or another, otherwise it will continue.— November 22, 2014 7:40 a.m.
