What If
Hey Mindy...... was hoping to reach you. was curious how your book is coming along. I will check out Goodreads.com like you suggested. Hope all is well. My computer has been acting a little strange as of late. One of my stories is in the free local paper called THE PAPER. Was the cover on the 10th.— November 22, 2011 8:35 a.m.

I know what you mean. You and Nan have always given support to my blog posts, but the reader editorial staff doesn't seem to be too supportive. I too have been leary of writers groups, most are very self serving and don't play well with others. (legends in their own minds)But our group has been together for over three years. We started out in a how to get published class through Palomar and ended up losing the funding and our meeting place, because of the damn economy. The core group who are really serious about our writing have continued to meet on our own and have made great strides in getting published. We value each other as writers and give support and contructive criticism in regards to the structure of the body of work, respecting the voice and integrity of the work itself. Several of us are working on novels. I have one completed and am in the process of editing for the fifth time. I have a second book that is still in it's infancy at 25,000 words. The first hour of our meeting we go over marketing ideas for submitting our work, then we take time reading works in progress.— June 30, 2011 10:54 a.m.

Hi Mindy. I too enjoy reading your blogs. You stated you are trying to get your novel written. Do you belong to a writing critique group? I belong to a group and we meet once a week on Thursdays. Let me know if you are interested. One of the girls in the group just got her first book published and it's being released today.— June 30, 2011 9:36 a.m.
A Pocketful of Angst
The total disregard on her part hurt terribly. All the effort Wes had put into making the tapes for me, so I would be able to understand and know my father during the missing years, all gone. All wasted. Thanks for your thoughts— May 4, 2011 8:21 a.m.
Techno Woes
I do remember those phones! I actually used to own one and yes they were totally bulletproof. I truly believe they make these new phones vulnerable. Maybe they shouldn't call them IPHONE or BLACKERRY, or any other household name. They should call a pig a pig and just name them.....planned obsolescence— April 5, 2011 6:44 p.m.
Escondido Council Considers Deep Cuts
If that's not the truth. We keep digging a deeper and deeper whole for the city to climb out of financially. The citizens haven't got a clue. They keep electing the good ol' boys and girls. We needed fresh blood in office. Not someone who's into bloodletting.— March 21, 2011 7:54 a.m.
Without Warning
You had to have been going out of your mind when you couldn't reach her. As a mom I know how frantic loss of communication can be. Especially if it's a daughter. Isn't funny how our society thinks our male counterparts are more capable? I guess we still throw them into the protector role when there are so many women out there more capable of survival on a multitude of levels. On a different note. I saw in one of your comments that you had an article published in a national magazine. I was curious which one and when. I for one would love to see what you wrote.— March 21, 2011 7:50 a.m.
why is no one talking?
I know exactly what you mean. More people need to speak up and find their voice. Our country used to be stronger, when people stood up for what they belieived in and weren't afraid to rock the boat. We've gone to war to fight for those same rights for people in other countries, yet have forgotten how to use the very tools we fight so adamantly for. People are now afraid to open their mouths, discipline their children and stand up for what's right. Have you seen the show "What Would You Do?" They set up a situation with actors and wait to see how people react. Very interesting to see how many people ignore a situation and do nothing.— March 21, 2011 7:42 a.m.

Oh yeah, did I forget to mention the millions he's willing to spend relocating the water district office? Maybe the old location near the actual source of water is good enough. Spend the money on public safety, schools, the library, recreation and road improvements. There are still so many traffic lights that have no left turn arrow and you see accidents or near accidents occur all the time. Just one of those things that make you go HMMMMM.— March 20, 2011 4:33 p.m.

Why can Sam Abed approve over $92,000.00 for an impact study regarding the proposed ballpark, but couldn't give a darn regarding the cutting of funds for recreation and the library? Is he so totally unaware that those are two positive benefits the city of Escondido has for it's children? There are going to be situations where having a library and recreation activities keep a child from going in the wrong direction. Haven't the children of our community suffered enough?— March 20, 2011 4:28 p.m.
