I reported on this 10 years ago (https://www.sandiegoreader.com/news/2012/apr/11/s…). It wasn't much of an issue with NP residents then, and it shouldn't be now. Carl DeMaio opposed it back then, so that just told me it is a good service. Carl remains a dollar-hustling annoyance. When I looked into this, I didn't know it was a needle exchange, either.

San Diego planners want dense housing near your bus stop
Uh, more $$$ in their pockets. And few or no affordable apartments for fixed-income seniors and low-income working people. Another example how real estate developers are still in charge in San Diego.— November 9, 2022 12:46 p.m.

To dream in the dark: Scott Marks says, “That’s all, folks!”
That was a shock. The READER has been fortunate to have had a writer of your talent and wit for a long period. The times they are a changin'.— September 2, 2022 5:03 p.m.
Going full grammar-guy on public radio
RE: "“Thank you for listening and supporting KPBS. It's would be OK if one paused after listening. It needed a comma, and a "for" added. Like this: “Thank you for listening, and for supporting KPBS.— August 7, 2022 7:34 p.m.
Priority mail bumps First-class at Margaret Sellers
1. Who did you hear that from? Was it information backed up by verification? 2. I always heard that junk mail brings in a huge amount of revenue to USPS. So they need it. I verified it online.— July 18, 2022 2:36 p.m.
Change of Habit : Elvis’ nadiral farewell to cinema
I was planning to go, because I thought it was a bio pic about Elvia Costello [real name Declan Patrick Aloysius Macmanus]. What a disappointment. And Isn't it time for ANOTHER "A Star is Born" movie? It's coming! Starring Taylor Swift and Benedict Cumberbatch, it will be viewable only on Paramount+. Cumberbatch was chosen not based on his amazing movies but rather by his smash appearance on SNL. Who knew he could be so funny? I laughed my nards off.— June 26, 2022 8:45 a.m.
District Attorney, Union-Tribune fail to remove Dennis Hodges from San Diego County commission
DA Summer Stephan is 100% right. There is no place for this type of behavior on the Human Relations Commission by Hodges. He can preach that view all he wants in church, or on TV. Of course, it makes him a false-Christian. I am proudly NOT a Christian, but I know enough about that religion to know that Hodges' judgmental statements violate the Golden Rule, as well as basic decency. .He should resign immediately. P.S. I noticed the Ashford University degree in the photo. That for-profit institution was shut down for corrupt and illegal behavior. A degree from them is a bad joke.— June 14, 2022 7:55 a.m.
Toni Atkins vacuums up $50K from apartment owners
Yes, if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and cashes checks like a duck.......it's a BRIBE! Toni Atkins has probably never seen a contributor's check that she didn't dash to the bank on her lunch hour to cash it quick. Vote NO for her to become Lt. Gov.— May 14, 2022 9:21 a.m.
Netflix down, Union-Tribune up?
The old LA Times printing plant could still turn into studio space, regardless of Netflix's crash. Content is king, and it's not slowing down. With the recent sale of Warner Media (by AT&T) to Discovery, that greatly expanded media giant will probably need more studios.— May 7, 2022 8:58 a.m.
