Roseville neighbors protest towering duplexes
Clarification on my last post. I built a house on Alexandrai St. In Point Loma in 1993. A neighbor complained about the height. The city required I hire a licensed City approved Suveyor, which showed I was 5' below the approved height requirement measured from the highest point on the adjacent city sidewalk. 23 years later: I just finished a remodel on my family home (purchased 1951) in the Overlook neighborhood above Bay Park. This project also had a height requirement exactly the same as my 1993 project. However this time the point of reference was from the highest EXISTING grade next to the building pad. Everyone clear on this? I'm not. I am clear on one thing, Lorie Zaph is completely influenced by her developer crony campaign contributors. Shameful.— June 27, 2016 7:06 p.m.
Roseville neighbors protest towering duplexes
David Dick: Thank you for the clarification. It's always been from the highest existing grade on the sidewalk serving the parcel.— June 27, 2016 6:35 p.m.

Speaking of performance, observe Ms. Zaph at work during a City Council meeting. It's somewhere between disgusting and infuriating. She clearly doesn't give a rats azz or care about the average citizen needs or concerns.— June 27, 2016 6:30 p.m.
What will One Paseo look like?
dwbat: Re; your " rich residents" comment . I feel as if I'm projecting wealth via my Zip Code. I live in a building with seven (7) other family units, but I do have a carport. We call them Condos up here in the Valley. I think you use the same term in your neck of the woods, would that be a correct assumption?— May 30, 2015 8:12 p.m.
What will One Paseo look like?
Rancho Santa Fe is relatively far so I don't think they give a rats ass about Carmel Valley. However, I do agree with your comment.— May 30, 2015 8:04 p.m.
What will One Paseo look like?
Yes, my mistake.— May 30, 2015 7:59 p.m.
Berry disconcerting
This "Open Space the Right Way" is no different than Kilroy Realty's PR blitz for their One Paseo project. If you go to the Open Space FB page, most supporters seem to be realtors, construction affiliated or business interests who would no doubt profit from the distruction of the lagoon's surrounding open space. Traffic is another concern for the locals and by the tone of the responses, the citizens of Carlsbad don't seem to be on board with this project. Sure Caruso Affiliated touts massive local support just like Kilroy. Don't believe a word of it.— May 30, 2015 6:44 p.m.
What will One Paseo look like?
The elephant in the room is; How many low income units of the revise/downsized Paseo One will be "low income"? There are already at least a few hundred low income projects in Carmel Valley, 60 more wont be noticed, nice try to smear a community. I live here and wouldn't mind a bit. Painting with a pretty wide brush pal.— May 23, 2015 4:31 p.m.
Mayoral aides turned lobbyists
Like I've said before, Rachael Laing would yell Fire in a crowded theatre if someone paid her enough. She's a prime example of what's wrong with Political Lobbyists in San Diego. Completely devoid of any level of ethics.— April 24, 2015 7:20 p.m.
City hall crimes veiled by anonymity
As a matter of fact they did move on to other comfortable position. Gerry Braun is now the official mouthpiece for City Attorney Jan Goldsmith. His partner-in-scam Julie Dubick was hired by GafCon whose owner sat on the Board of Directors for the BPCI Inc. She may have moved on by now. These are typical of the Downtown insiders and former Mayoral staffers for Jerry Sanders who seem to continually leach off the Public Teat.— April 24, 2015 5:20 p.m.
